Celebrating the Community Spirit in Owen Sound
This has been an absolutely amazing experience to witness just how much our community cares for its own.
22,232 times, you made the conscious decision to help someone in our community - that someone may have been a neighbour, a co-worker, a friend, a family member but for many it may be someone you will have never met. But 22,232 times - Owen Sound, Grey Bruce and friends from all over - you ch...ose to make a difference!!
The Salvation Army is honoured to be now entrusted with this generous gift from Kraft Canada Food for Families. This is about more that providing food for the people we see, its about giving hope and dignity to our friends who struggle each month.
To the City of Owen Sound, all our voting friends, our media partners, our community groups and agencies - YOU made this happen!! Today we celebrate with with you, and we thank you.
To our new friends at Kraft Canada and Canada AM - thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for bringing a community together to make this a day that not only will we remember, but a day the entire community can be proud of.
We did this together - we celebrated together -and to each and every one of you ...we thank you!! - Alice Wannan
