Mujib Biosphere Reserve - Wild Jordan -
At 410 meters below sea level, the Mujib Biosphere Reserve is the lowest nature reserve on Earth. Its rugged and spectacular mountains border the Dead Sea coast and are dissected by several river-filled canyons that offer the best river and adventure hikes in Jordan. The breathtaking scenery and the challenge of negotiating Mujib’s fast-flowing rivers make the Reserve one of Jordan’s most popular natural attractions.
Mujib’s complex river system and all-year water flow enable it to support a rich biodiversity. To date, over 300 species of plants, 10 species of carnivores and numerous species of resident and migratory birds have been recorded. Some of the mountain and valley areas are difficult to reach and offer safe havens for rare species of cats, mountain goats (Ibex) and other mountain animals.

Ajloun Forest Reserve
Ajloun Forest Reserve is located in the Ajloun highlands north of Amman and covers 13 square kilometers. It is dominated by open woodlands of Evergreen Oak, Pine, Carob, Wild Pistachio and Wild Strawberry trees. The reserve itself supports a wide variety of wild plants and animals and is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature. Among the more unusual animals to be found in the Reserve are the Striped Hyena, Crested Porcupine and Stone Marten. In spring, the reserve is a carpet of wild flowers, including drifts of anemones and rock roses.
We provide three different types of accommodation, located in a large grassy clearing on the edge of the forest and offering beautiful views of the reserve and beyond, and it has on-site restaurant that serves home-made traditional local meals. Enjoy al fresco dining at the Reserve’s restaurant with winning local flavors.

Dana Nature Reserve Tour - Hiking & Trekking in Jordan
Dana Village has been occupied since about 4000 BC. Archaeological evidence indicates that Palaeolithic, Egyptian, Nabatean, and Roman civilisations have been drawn to the area by the fertile soil, water springs, and strategic location. Since 400 years the area is inhabited from the people of the Ata'ta tribe. You can explore the beauty of the area via several hiking trails.

Gamla Massada of the Golan
Flavius Josephus wrote about the Great Revolt and told the story of Gamla, that was conquered and destroyed in the year 67 CE, three years before the Temple and Jerusalem were ruined in 70 CE.
In 73 CE also Massada fell .
My collegue Oded Ambar wrote me that Shemaryahu Gutmann didn't like the fact that Gamla and Massada were compared; because though they fell both in the same era, the stories are completely different.
