Thailand's dreamy north has national parks galore and tons of amazing day trips to take from Chiang Mai. Our first stop on our hidden Thailand road trip is Doi Inthanon National Park, Thailand's tallest peak.
On the way, we stop by Pha Chor, an orange canyon located about an hour outside of the city. It's an easy, perfect little pit stop before we continue on our way to the Mae Ya Waterfall.
Though Doi Inthanon National Park has many waterfalls, Mae Ya is easily one of the most beautiful, the largest, and the most impressive. It's also the least crowded since it takes an extra 40 minutes to drive to from the park entrance, but it's worth it!
Finally, we finish at the King and Queen Pagodas near the top of Doi Inthanon after a gorgeous drive.
Check out the associated blog post for more information on the beautiful hidden parts of Thailand, accessible by day trip from Chiang Mai.

DOI INTHANON DAY TRIP from CHIANG MAI // Wonderful Eco Tours // Full-Time Travel
Finding a day trip package that DOESN’T involve elephants or tigers is difficult in Chiang Mai! Fortunately we found Wonderful Eco Tours which offer a one day trekking adventure through Doi Inthanon National Park. This day trip doesn’t involve any animals but includes vegan food for lunch and yummy local coffee! They also pick you up (and drop you off) right at your hotel. The price was reasonable as well at 1400 baht per person. Just book online and pay in cash when they pick you up.
Check out Wonderful Eco Tours (we did ‘One Day Doi Inthanon National Park + Trekking’):
Thanks for watching my video! If you are new to my channel, my name is Lisa. I'm a minimalist nomad vegan. Elephant Nature Park, Mae Wang Chiang Mai, 22 APRIL 2017, 2k 2.5k 1440p (1)
Elephant Nature Park -- the famous elephant sanctuary. I had a half day visit to a project site in Mae Wang district. The place was about 1 hour drive west of the Old City of Chiang Mai, Thailand. My visit and recordings were on 22 April 2017. The tour guide was: Mr. Sunshine of the Karen local people of Thailand.
The Elephants were: Dodo (young male, with tusks), and Chumpoo (young female), and Dodo's mother ( older female @5:09 ) but I forgot the mother's name.
About 47 minutes of video was recorded in 2.7k (2688x1520) mode using an Andoer 4k action camera Allwinner V3 $45 USD. See this link |or| . The video was edited in 2.5k (1440p) in Cyberlink Powerdirector 14, it plays as 2.5k 1440p, 24fps in youtube.

Not only do these increasingly threatened habitats support life on a grade scale, but they're also the last remaining sanctuaries for some of the rarest and most elusive animals on earth.
Amazing Private Wildlife Tour - Thailand Travel Vlog Day 8!
We woke up early day 8 to enjoy the first day of our two-day private tour of Khao Yai National Park. Our guide, Jay, knew all the best spots to find the local wildlife. We saw so much! We saw wagtails, nesting hornbills, nesting trogons, gibbons, deer, turtles, spiders, a beautiful pit viper, bee eaters, butterflies and not one, but TWO wild elephants. And that's not even all we saw. We had such a great time and still had another day!

Thailand Travel: Chiang Mai Elephant Discovery
During my Thailand trip, we made a pitstop in Chiang Mai to visit some friendly Elephants. We had the opportunity to bathe, feed, ride, and play with these amazing animals. I'm in love with these gentle giants. One of the most mesmerizing creatures I've ever come in contact with.
