Suicide Forest in Japan (Full Documentary)
The Aokigahara Forest is the most popular site for suicides in Japan. After the novel Kuroi Jukai was published, in which a young lover commits suicide in the forest, people started taking their own lives there at a rate of 50 to 100 deaths a year.
The site holds so many bodies that the Yakuza pays homeless people to sneak into the forest and rob the corpses. The authorities sweep for bodies only on an annual basis, as the forest sits at the base of Mt. Fuji and is too dense to patrol more frequently.

Wildlife Photography Tips | Japan's Snow Monkeys
My wildlife photography tips from the snow monkeys in Japan. Such a cool photo experience!
Check out my travel and wildlife photography on IG:
Wildlife photography is perhaps my favourite form picture taking. Mostly because I absolutely love animals. For me, there's nothing better than being out in nature with wild animals and a camera. In fact, I don't even really care if I get great photos when I'm out, because the experience is enough.
In Japan, we went to visit the famous snow monkeys. And while out in the field, I shot a BTS wildlife photography tips video. However, I had a memory card corrupt and I lost the talking bits of the footage. So, instead, I put them all together in this little video with footage from the snow monkeys.
The snow monkeys were a joy to photograph. And, I think that as far as wildlife goes, they are easy to photograph. But, these tips and techniques should come in handy none-the-less.

Japan's Wild Year
Japan is synonymous with crowded high tech cities. In fact 73% of Japan is uninhabited forests, mountains and coast lines. Here a great diversity of wildlife ekes out an existence adapted to a country with great extremes of climate. From the tropics in the south to the sub-arctic climate of Hokkaido island. From the northernmost primates in the world, the Snow Monkeys, Bears, giant Hornets and the weird goat-antelope Serow, to the iconic Red-headed crane and the abundant Cherry Salmon, the life blood of Japanese rivers.
This is the opening sequence of 'Japan's Wild Year,' co-produced by NHNZ and Nat Geo Wild.

Message from professional photographer Mark Hemmings:
“The country of Japan is a really hot destination now. In fact, the World Economic Forum gave Japan the very high ranking of fourth out of thirty countries for travel and tourism competitiveness, trailing only Spain, France, and Germany.
I don’t want you to miss out on Japan. What it offers for food, nature, cities, architecture, wildlife, and especially my favorite . . . photography! That’s why I’m inviting you to the Japan trip of a lifetime.
Since 2005 I’ve been leading photography workshops and tours throughout Japan, and this coming year is no exception. My job is two-fold . . . to teach you photography, AND to introduce you to one of the most intriguing countries and cultures in the world.
What better place to learn street, architecture, and urban photography than Tokyo? It’s hard to beat Nagano for mastering landscape, nature and wildlife photography, and where else in the world can you step back in time and witness the unique natural and cultural gems of Kyoto?
The Japan Photo Tour is meant for photographers of all skill levels and all types of cameras. Whether you’re a beginner or pro, whether you have a ten thousand dollar camera or an iPhone, YOU are well positioned to receive maximum technical and artistic skills by joining the Japan Photo Tour.
But this isn’t just any photo tour that chooses low end hotels and transportation methods . . . The Japan photo Tour is my premium photography workshop that stays in high-end hotels and traditional inns, uses the famously fast Japanese bullet trains to explore the country, and makes full use of Japan’s famous culinary arts.
Japan is a land of mystery and beauty, and I believe it’s now time for you to visit and photograph this magical country. And as I’ve been a photography workshop instructor for so many years now, I am thrilled to pass along my two decades worth of professional photographic knowledge to you during this trip.

Winter In Japan HD
We are in Sapporo, Japan, where the 64th annual snow festival attracts about two million people, who come to see these splendid snow statues and ice sculptures. Over 200 sculptures are located in three sites spread throughout the city.
Early in the 20th century, Red-Crowned Cranes were hunted to the brink of extinction for their stunning plumage. Habitat losses due to agriculture and development have put further pressure on the Japanese crane. With support from the government, farmers began feeding cranes and the population now stands at about 1300.
These snow monkeys have lost their fear of humans, allowing us to observe them as they soak, groom, play and enjoy this natural hot tub. Babies will consume their first solid food at five to six weeks, but full weaning does not generally happen until 18 months. Japanese macaques are intelligent and adaptable. In the wild, a mother and her baby will usually avoid other troop members, but these macaques have modified their life style.
