Some 1,600 islands, thick with greenery, form a maze of channels in the azure waters off northeastern Vietnam. Although people have lived in the region of Ha Long Bay for thousands of years, most of the islands remain uninhabited. But these coves and natural towers are rich with wildlife. For centuries, this spectacular seascape has inspired wonder.
The name Ha Long, Vietnamese for “descending dragon,” is reflected in a legend: Once, when the Viet people faced invasion, a dragon flew down from heaven to their defense. The creature sprayed not only fire, but also jewels that became the green archipelago.
The scientific explanation for the rock formations, known as karst, is also amazing. For millions of years, seashells and sediments fell to an ancient seafloor, forming solid rock. Tectonic activity raised the resulting limestone above water. Rainfall and rivers dissolved exposed rock, and carved valleys that flooded after the last ice age, creating this rare example of a karst field at sea.
Features include lakes and caves through the islands, and notches and tunnels where seawater has worn at the pillars' foundations. The fantastic landscape also continues into two adjacent national parks, on Cat Ba Island and Bai Tu Long Bay.
You can go kayaking, caving, or even take a ride in a seaplane to experience the grandeur of these enchanting tropical islands.

Da Nang and Hoi An Travel Guide in Vietnam!!!
Thành Phố Hội An
Wondering what to do in Da Nang and Hoi An , Vietnam? How to get around and enjoy the best viewpoints, sites, hotspots, and secrets there? You have found the right video!!!
After our visit to Da Nang; a clean, modern, and laid-back city, bordered by a long white sand beach called My Khe. The beach front is lined with top-notch resorts, restaurants, and quirky shops; the city night filled with lights and beaming with life, and even just outside the city, amazing nature and serene views we have selected some of our favorite places for you to explore. So without further ado:
1. Marble mountains. Just south of Da Nang and accessed by two cylindrical glass elevators lies a natural masterpiece. Marble and limestone rock formations bulge out of the ground and reach for the skies. Atop this natural marvel is a pilgrimage site for Buddhists, with temples, pagodas, and sacred caves. Having 3 distinct peaks, serve as amazing viewpoints of the mountains to the south and the city of Da Nang to the North as well as breathtaking views of My Khe Beach to the East.
2. Dragon Bridge One of the most unique bridges in Da Nang and the whole of Vietnam. It is constructed in the shape of a dragon and a shining display of lights during the night makes your visit worthwhile.
3. Son Tra Mountain. Largely covered with thick forest, Son Tra Peninsula is full of Beaches and spectacular views. Sightseeing, nature walks, wildlife sightings, eating and drinking in Vietnamese style are on the top of the list.
4. Lady Buddha and Linh Ung Pagoda. Being the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam at an astounding 194 feet, Lady Buddha is located near Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang, a short 5 miles away from My Khe beach, or 9 miles from Da Nang city center.
5. Beaches. The best beaches in Da Nang are known for their clean waters and sands. The more popular ones, such as My Khe and Non Nuoc are relatively close to the city centre. Less than 10 minutes away by car, they’re often packed with locals during weekends and public holidays. You can also find plenty of local restaurants serving fresh seafood and Da Nang specialities at affordable prices. Lounges and beach chairs are available for rent for about VND 40,000 per day ($1.74 USD).
Hoi An has quickly become one of the most loved tourist sight in the country. This place doesn't have any airport or any railway network and the only way to reach it is by taxi, motorbike, or the public (Yellow) bus. However, this is one of the most beautiful as well as the most pleasant locations you will ever find. Here’s our top 6 things to do in Hoi An:
1. Walk around Hoi An Old town
2. Explore the central market in the heart of the city and go SHOPPING!!!
3. Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge
4. Try the mysterious street food
5. Visit the many historical temples
6. Walk around at night and enjoy colorful lantern
Catch a ride on one of the many river gondolas
Discover the amazing artwork including photography, painting and handmade crafts in the artist district

Surprising Vietnam HD
Vietnam is a country rich in history, heritage and diversity -- both in the ethnicity of its people and in the variation of its scenery. From the rice paddies and small canals of the southern Mekong Delta to the tribal villages of the northern and central highlands to the bustle of its modern cities, Vietnam is a surprise and a delight to the first time visitor.
Southeast Asia Best Destinations For Wildlife Photography
This video is about the best places to see wildlife in Southeast Asia. I go through my top five favorite places where I saw wildlife while backpacking though Thailand and Vietnam in winter of 2018. While I was in these places I did a lot of birding and wildlife photography and documented my trips through video. I describe each place and also try to give my best travel advice for visiting these places and spotting wildlife. I should also mention that this entire video has to do with terrestrial wildlife, not the marine realm (but there are lots of amazing diving sites in southeast Asia as well).
I acknowledge that there are many other great places to see wildlife in southeast Asia, but these are five places that I went to and loved. I judged these places on not only their wildlife but also their natural beauty and accessibility to tourists.
Southeast Asia is an amazing places to view wildlife. Situated in the tropics, it has immense biodiversity and plenty of exotic animals to see. Some of the animals shown in this video include many species of birds (including two species of hornbills), several species of langurs and macaques (monkeys), gibbons, monitor lizards, deer, and much more.
If you have any questions please feel free to post in the comments below and I will do my best to answer your questions.
All of the footage was taken by me on a Nikon d3200, a Go Pro (with the Karma Gimbal), a Karma Drone, and a Canon g7x. All animals filmed were wild besides the primates filmed in enclosures at the Endangered Primate Rescue Center (which is only for a few seconds of the video).

The most beautiful place in Ninh Binh Vietnam - Van Long Nature Reserve
We spent 5 amazing days in Ninh Binh and found one of the most beautiful places we have ever come across. So much peacefulness and tranquility, Ninh Binh was spectacular in our eyes.
For our first stop, we visited Cuc Phuong National Park located in Ninh Binh province. Here we checked out a monkey and turtle rescue center to learn all about the animals from our guide that worked at the rescue center.
Cuc Phuong National Park - Endangered Primate Rescue Center
Address: đường rừng Cúc Phương, Cúc Phương, Nho Quan, Ninh Bình, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 8:30–11:30am, 1:30–4:30pm
We then set out to go on a hike to visit a 1,000 year old ancient tree although only one of us makes the journey!
Address: Nho Quan District, Ninh Bình Province 432857, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 8am–6pm
So where is the most beautiful place in Ninh Binh, Vietnam? We reckon it's Van Long Nature Reserve. We sat in awe during what we felt was the most beautiful destination of our entire Vietnam trip. Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve was more peaceful than the already awesome Trang An but with the same special breath taking beauty and more wildlife. Van Long was a simply magical destination and a must visit in Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
The next day we headed over to the more touristy area Tam Coc and opted to skip the rowboat ride there since we heard it was less enjoyable from a few sources including our own tour guide consultant.
Instead we had lunch at a popular lunch spot - Family Restaurant to get some energy for our final adventure (Thung Nam Bird Park).
Family Restaurant
Address: Ninh Hải, Hoa Lư District, Ninh Bình Province 43000, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 8am–12am
For our final destination we headed over to Thung Nham Bird Park. Entry prices were a little steep comparatively to other tourist activities at 200,000 vietnamese dong however the bird park was very large and well kept. Definitely recommend taking a bicycle over there rather than a scooter so you can cycle around Thung Nham Bird Park and enjoy exploring the sights. Scooters have to be left at the entrance but bicycles can go inside the park.
Thung Nham Bird Park
Address: Thôn Hải Nham, Hoa Lư District, Ninh Bình Province, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–6pm
Our private tour operator during our stay in Ninh Binh was Tommy’s Travel Service. Tommy is a Ninh Binh local unlike many of the other Ninh Binh tour operators and he organized an awesome tailored schedule for us. Our driver was the kind Mr. Ha. If you're planning to visit Ninh Binh Vietnam, we highly recommend Tommy's Travel Service. He's a really nice guy too.
This is the final video in our Vietnam series! We hope you've enjoyed following us along on our journey :) Be sure to check out our other videos from Vietnam if you're planning a trip this awesome country.

Hoi An DIY FOOD TOUR | EP84
We sampled all of Hoi An’s specialities on our DIY food tour. Although we hadn’t intended the day to be quite so food heavy, it turned into a bit of a food tour. We started off by sampling White Rose, Fried Wontons and Cao Lau. Afterwards we headed to the market where we found Bun Thit Nuong, Alex’s favourite - Banh Trang Nuong, banana icecream, a fish dish called Cha Ca and of course no Vietnamese food tour would be complete without Bia Hoi!

Hi, we’re Gem & Alex Swan, in 2017 we quit our jobs, rented out our house and set off on the adventure of a lifetime. We’ve been travelling continuously since then, and have been lucky enough to have some amazing experiences and meet some great people.
Before our trip we were glued to YouTube, every evening we watched travel vlogs by @karaandnate, @lifeofjord, @lostleblanc @markwiens and @funforlouis, and these content creators inspired us to document our travels on YouTube too. We bought a new camera, and started the steep learning curve of shooting and editing videos, and producing travel vlogs of our epic trip!

EXPLORING VIETNAM || the pros and cons of solo travelling • planning a trip to ho chi minh city
Hi everyone and happy new year! In today’s vlog I headed off to Ho Chi Minh City (or Saigon) in Vietnam for a 5 day solo trip! It was my first time visiting this amazing city and there was so much food, history & heritage to explore! In this video I share tips on how to solo travel for the first time, and how I go about planning a holiday.
Solo travelling can be a daunting thing (well it was definitely so in my case) as I usually prefer travelling with friends/family but I definitely do see the perks of solo travelling too!
I made some awesome new friends this trip, including fellow YouTuber Kenny who was kind enough to show me around Ho Chi Minh City! (find him here: )
This vlog features my recap of my whole time in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, but I will be releasing a Ho Chi Minh City food focused vlog soon so be sure to subscribe for the best eats of Ho Chi Minh City!

????????AUSTRALIAN BUSHFIRES ????????
On a sad (& side) note you might have heard that Australia is currently facing its worst bushfire crisis to date. The bushfires have been going on for more than 50 days, with more than 12 million acres burned (at time of writing), apparently equivalent to the size of U.S. states of New Hampshire & Vermont combined. Almost half a billion animals have been killed and right now the fires do not show any sign of slowing down.
If you’d like to donate to the Australian bushfires I’ve put a few links of organisations you can support below, any amount is greatly appreciated!
???? General Australian Bushfire Assistance ????
• Community Enterprise Foundation Victoria Bushfire Disaster Appeal:
• CFA Australia
• CFS Volunteer Firefighters
• Salvation Army Australia:
• Red Cross Australia:
???? Animal Welfare for animals that have been displaced or injured ????
• RSPCA:
• Zoos Victoria:
• Koalas in Care:
• Port Macquarie Koala Hospital:
Their GoFundMe page post updates on the number of drinking stations they're able to build across the country for affected wildlife and right now it's been increased to 100 drinking stations!
I’ve only listed a few organisations here but I’m sure there are many more out there!
