Some 1,600 islands, thick with greenery, form a maze of channels in the azure waters off northeastern Vietnam. Although people have lived in the region of Ha Long Bay for thousands of years, most of the islands remain uninhabited. But these coves and natural towers are rich with wildlife. For centuries, this spectacular seascape has inspired wonder.
The name Ha Long, Vietnamese for “descending dragon,” is reflected in a legend: Once, when the Viet people faced invasion, a dragon flew down from heaven to their defense. The creature sprayed not only fire, but also jewels that became the green archipelago.
The scientific explanation for the rock formations, known as karst, is also amazing. For millions of years, seashells and sediments fell to an ancient seafloor, forming solid rock. Tectonic activity raised the resulting limestone above water. Rainfall and rivers dissolved exposed rock, and carved valleys that flooded after the last ice age, creating this rare example of a karst field at sea.
Features include lakes and caves through the islands, and notches and tunnels where seawater has worn at the pillars' foundations. The fantastic landscape also continues into two adjacent national parks, on Cat Ba Island and Bai Tu Long Bay.
You can go kayaking, caving, or even take a ride in a seaplane to experience the grandeur of these enchanting tropical islands.

Very amazing trip in Vietnam
Dear all our viewers;
We are excited right after landing at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon is the largest city in Vietnam, it's a busy but very friendly city. We are a 3 year-old boy and 7 month-baby with parents. We go around Saigon, it's a new experience to cross the river of motorbike traffic ????. We visit Opera House, Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, they are French colonial architecture.
Then we come to Bitexco Saigon Skydeck on the 49th floor for an amazing view of this city. We walk downtown to see City Hall, Tran Hung Dao Square and a part of Saigon River. After that we visit Independence Palace, formerly known as The Reunification Palace. The good place for shopping is Ben Thanh Market, and the nice place for meal is cruise on the Saigon River. We would love to go back to Ho Chi Minh City soon!????
Da Nang is one of the most organized urban areas, one of cleanest city and the third largeat cuty in Vietnam. There are many beautiful and unique bridges: Dragon Bridge, Han River Bridge, Thuan Phuoc Bridge, Golden Bridge. Local people are very kind, polite and friendly. We enjoy going by cable car to Ba Na Hills for sightseeing. We like the endless view of swimming pool and delicious breakfast at Da Nang Golden Bay Hotel. In Da Nang we should eat Quang Noodle, Bun Cha Ca, Bun Thit Nuong, wrap & rolls. Da Nang has the wonderful beauty blended between people and nature, between the herictics of creation and the preservation and development of human. Da Nang is always in our memory, we will come back soon!
Hoi An is a peaceful ancient town on the riverside in the middle of Vietnam. This town's painted almost in yellow and we see many colorful lanterns. Local people are really friendly and kind. Local food is very tasty and cheap, you should try as much as you can, such as: Cao Lau, Quang Noodle, Banh Mi, Pho, Banh Beo, Pancake, Chicken Rice, Shrimp Dumplings (Banh Bao Vac).
You should buy the ticket to visit the center of the town and keep it during your stay in Hoi An. The best time to discover Hoi An is on the 14th day each month of Lunar calendar to attend the Full Moon Festival. Japanese Covered Bridge ( Chua Cau) is the most beautiful place here.
Our children love boat ride along Hoai River in the afternoon as well as the evening. We are impressed with so many tailor shops here, but you should check prices with some places before choosing one.
We love eco tour by basket boat for a funny 1-hour ride to visit the fishing village in water coconut palm. We also take a trip to Cham Island (Cu Lao Cham) by speedboat, enjoy swimming, snorkeling and sunbath at the islands' beaches. Hoi An is our favorite destination in Vietnam!
Nha Trang is a really nice beach city in the South middle of Vietnam. We love to stay at Sunrise Nha Trang Hotel, everything is wonderful, real 5 stars! We also visit Thap Cham and have mudbath.
Vietnam is a good destination for an amazing trip????????????

Phong Nha Ke Bang - Vietnam (via Jungle Boss)
During our travels through Vietnam, we made a stop at the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. We weren't exactly sure where to start exploring this beast, but we were lucky enough to stumble upon a tour company called Jungle Boss. Normally we are reluctant to join a tour, but this experience has changed our opinion.
We signed up for the 1 day National Park tour with the most amazing tour guide Nga. She was funny, knowledgeable and personable. Starting a mountain hike up to Paradise cave, we ventured inside the longest natural cave system in the world. We continued on to 8 Lady Temple where we learned some Vietnamese history. As it approached lunch time, we trekked through the jungle only to find a camp site setup with tasty family style BBQ. To finish the day we took a dip inside Tra Ang cave and swam 600m in pure darkness to the end of the cave and finished with some cold beers.
We had an unforgettable time exploring Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park with Jungle Boss and our awesome tour guide Nga. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. Nothing but good things to say!

NHA TRANG | WHAT TO EXPECT | Tran Phu Beach by DRONE! | Ba Ho Waterfall TREK! | VINPEARL | Vietnam

Vlog 14 - Nha Trang, Vietnam. A short stop in this incredibly busy, Russian filled city of Vietnam...
It's true, there are so many Russians that come here on holiday, many of the restaurants have menus in Russian too! With Russian owners!
We spent a few days here and experienced some cool things...
Ba Ho Waterfall
Nice trail walk through a forest / jungle, leading towards a beautiful waterfall, suitable for swimming in too!
You'll see a lot of wildlife on route, many types of lizards, dragonfly and giant red ants! Not the easiest access to the waterfall at the end, scaling across rocks and narrow ledges at times... but worth the struggle!
Tran Phu Beach
If you are visiting Nha Trang, you won't be able to miss this big long beach! The waves were strong around the time of our visit back in February, not ideal for children swimming! Many bars and restaurants along the front, the sand was nice too, much better condition than the beach at Hoi An.
VinPearl Theme Park
We had NO IDEA what to expect at Vinpearl other than knowing they had a few rides and a waterpark!
Firstly, what a cool experience having to cross the cable car to the Island. It felt so special approaching Vinpearl, like a whole new world apart from Nha Trang. Some of the architecture around the island looked incredible from above... almost like Hogworts from Harry Potter!
Upon arrival, it was raining so no park rides were open... we were recommended to go visit the 'bird area' which turned out to be a zoo. Lots of wild animals in small, enclosed pens. Not nice to see if we are honest!
Monkeys, Rhinos and Tigers... all looking incredibly bored and trapped. Highly recommend avoiding this so called 'attaction' if visiting Vinpearl.
As the rain improved, so did our mood. We went to check out the greenhouses / gardens section of Vinpearl. Beautifully kept, lots of amazing flowers to admire.
Once the rain subsided, we decided to go down to the waterpark... they had a handful of decent water rides here, some were sides for single riders only, others for groups / couples. We tried them all out, there are some really quick slides here at vinpearl! No camera allowed during any of the slides... so no footage of these I'm afraid.
On our way back to the theme park, we noticed they had a Wibit (giant outdoor blow up water assault course) situated out on the ocean. What fun this was! We endured an hour or so clambering around the Wibit, so many laughs to be had on these things... BONUS footage at the end of this vlog if you are up for a laugh at our expense haha!
We managed to squeeze in a couple of the amusement rides but theres not many at Vinpearl. Luckily we spent much of our time at the waterpark.
All in all, we had a decent time in Nha Trang. Ba Ho Waterfall was fun, as was the Beach and of course the waterpark at Vinpearl too.
We tried lots of street food and felt comfortable with all the food offerings in Nha Trang.
Next stop; Dalat, Vietnam. So much to share, can't wait! Until next time! Tom & Laura x

World's Biggest Cave Discovered in Vietnam - Full Documentary
Breathtaking pictures show the world's largest cave in Vietnam which has its own climate and CLOUDS. The spectacular Han Son Doong cave in Vietnam is so gigantic it could fit a 40-storey skyscraper within its walls.Tours are limited to 450 visitors each year in a bid to create a sustainable future for its vast caverns and plant-life
With the eerie green glow inside the mystical, echoing cavern, Vietnam's Han Son Doong cave looks like it could be on the edge of the world. The huge cave - large enough to fit a 40-storey skyscraper - is so massive that it has its own climate, and clouds even form inside it.
At more than 200m high, 150m wide and 5km long, the Hang Son Doong cave in Vietnam is so big it has its own river, jungle and climate. Australian photographer John Spies, 59, spent a week photographing the natural wonder of the cave system. With ceilings towering over 200 metres high in places, the cave is a humbling and belittling experience, said John, who has lived in Thailand since 1977 and runs the Cave Lodge guesthouse
It's not a trip for the faint-hearted - it takes a half day trek through a stunning jungle peppered with butterflies and a journey through knee deep rivers to finally get to the entrance of the colossal cave.
Adventurous explorers must also pass through the third largest cave in the world, Hang Ev cave - used as a location for the Peter Pan blockbuster.

Nha Trang, Vietnam Travel Video Guide
In Nha Trang I do a story on the positive impact tourists can have on local people. Mai Loc was a cyclo driver, a chance meeting with a Norwegian couple and their gift to Loc, of a small camera, lead to him changing careers and realising his talent as a photographer. Self taught, Loc's photos have been exhibited around the world.
I also visit Monkey Island where monkeys have been taught to ride bikes, Po Nagar Temple, and the local market, where I find everyone has a speciality.

Exploring Binh Ba Island on Cam Ranh Bay
There are many beautiful beaches in Vietnam, however, nowhere owns the charming beauties with a lot of interesting experiences like Binh Ba. Located in Cam Binh commune, Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam, Binh Ba is a small island with the area of 3 km². Situated on Cam Ranh Bay, it’s about 60 kilometers from Nha Trang city to the south. Binh Ba is not only one of the earliest places of enjoying the sunrise in Vietnam, but also one of the fascinating destinations for tourists in summer.
Travelling to Binh Ba
It’s relatively convenient for you to travel to Binh Ba Island. You depart from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City or any other provinces; anyhow, your stopover is still Cam Ranh station. From Cam Ranh station, visitors can catch a taxi or motorcycle taxi to go to Ba Ngoi Port and then take a boat to Binh Ba Island. It takes you about one hour and a half to reach to Binh Ba. There are three boat trips departing at 10am, 13:30 pm and 16pm.
Accommodation
Because of being the relatively new destination in the Vietnamese tourism map, Binh Ba has quite limited services. There aren’t many hotels here like other places; however, it’s more experienced for tourists to be with the local people, or rent fully-furnished houses with the quite reasonable price. Moreover, the local people are very friendly, kind and hospitable. Living with the rustic people here, you will understand more about the good personalities and the hard lives of the coastal people.
Beautiful beaches
Coming to Binh Ba Island, visitors will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of nature with the blue sea and the stretching white sand-bank. Binh Ba’s beaches are not noisy and crowded, otherwise, it brings you a quiet and peaceful feeling in your heart.
There are three famous beaches in Binh Ba including Chuong Beach, Nom Beach and Old House Beach. Each beach has its own features which attract tourists. Chuong Beach is an ideal site for seeing beautiful sunrise. Nom Beach is impressive with the spreading white sand. Furthermore, you can also camp in the seashore and enjoy the nice sunset in a more romantic scenery than ever. Old House Beach is famous for the clear water and the poetic surrounding landscape. This is am extremely suitable place for some interesting activities such as snorkeling and scuba diving, catching seafood and especially, seeing the coral reefs and the colorful species of fish under the sea.
Scuba diving and coral viewing
A unique and exciting activity that always makes almost tourists interested in when visiting this island is snorkeling and enjoying the coral reefs. Binh Ba Island owns a lot of beautiful coral reefs and the advantageous features of nature such as the low sea level and the rare clear blue water.
Diving in Binh Ba
Diving in Binh Ba brings a great number of extremely special experiences. Binh Ba is an island that still keeps the wild and original beauty of nature; therefore, you will be impressed by the colorful coral reefs. Also, you can go fishing or fishing squid in the combination of your diving trip. It will be really surprising when you yourself can catch fish or squid from the sea.
Enjoying seafood
In Binh Ba Island, visitors will enjoy many types of delicious seafood. The seafood is not only fresh but also tasty, sweet-smelling and greasy. The most popular dish is grilled lobster. In addition, visitors can buy available seafood caught by the local people, bring them to the beach to grill and enjoy together in the cool evening.

Enjoy the beauties of Vietnam from unique perspective of the drone.
The capital of Vietnam is Hanoi - the main political, educational and cultural center of the country, former capital of French Indochina. A developing metropolis, a vivid mix of Asian and European cultures. The endless streams of mopeds bikes, kilometers of slums contrast with glass walls of the highest skyscraper. Ancient temples and pagodas are carefully preserved and impress with their authenticity.
Halong Bay is one of the most beautiful places in the country, a national park, which is on the UNESCO list. About 3,000 islands with beaches and grottoes. In the rocks there are thousands of caves of various shapes and sizes, filled with stalactites and stalagmites.
A city in the Thin Alps, at an altitude of 1600 meters - Sapa, an amazing symbiosis of mountains, plains and terraced rice fields. Here live different tribes that are not purely Vietnamese. They have their own culture, religion and lifestyle.
Dalat is a city in the central highlands of Vietnam at a level of 1,500m, an alpine resort a favorite vacation spot for locals and tourists. The city is famous for its golf courses and Flower Park. Around the city there are greenhouses for growing flowers, natural parks and picturesque waterfalls - Pangur, Pren, Elephant Falls.
The city of Nha Trang is a modern tourist center one of the most popular resorts in Vietnam, located on the coast, pleases tourists with snow-white sandy beaches, picturesque vibrant streets and varied local cuisine. Paradise islands attract a variety of exotic animals - monkeys, elephants, colorful birds, welcoming tourists.
All along the coast of Vietnam, locals build floating villages from improvised materials, where they catch and grow fish and all kinds of seafood that are exported around the world.
It is impossible not to be amazed by beauties of Vietnam country and hard manual labor of the people, who follow their traditions, growing rice, fruits, vegetables in endless fields, working hard under the scorching sun in their unchanged triangular straw hats.
