A Journey Through Mongolia (Full Length Documentary)
Mongolia! A Journey through Mongolia is a travel documentary from our one month trip through the great expanses of the Mongolian plains.
We started the trip with a few days in Ulaanbaatar to experience the sprawling metropolis. We also had a chance to go to Hustai National Park not far from UB to see the last remaining wild horse, the Takhi. Then we went on a ten day adventure to go live with the Tsaatan Reindeer Herder tribe in the very north on the border of Siberia. This was an incredible experience and it was very demanding with multiple days on horseback after a long strenuous multi-day 4WD trip. After a short recovery we went to the eastern part of the country to the Bayan-Ölgii Province to attend the Golden Eagle Festival. This festival has really been the focus of the Mongolian travel in recent time, very much because of Aishol-pan the Eagle Huntress. We had a chance to meet this incredible girl who is certainly an inspiration to women across the world. After the festival we went and lived with an eagle hunter family deep in the Altai Mountain Range.

Mongolia, Nature by Nomads | Travel to Mongolia | Mongolia Video Guide |
Mongolia is known among travelers as the land of nomads, birthplace of the Great king Genghis Khan and of many histories, dating all the way back to Paleolithic Age. It is home to hospitable, gracious herders who cherish their land, animals and culture in all its natural beauty.
In today’s fast changing world, Mongolia is considered as one of the few travel destinations and a place designed for travellers and adventure seekers that can offer beautiful unspoiled nature, endless steppes, massive ranging mountains, crystal clear lakes, parched conditions of the Gobi and interested in exploring the nomadic culture and unrivalled hospitality which have been kept for centuries.
Introduction to Mongolia
From about VIII centuries ago, Mongolians have been living in a vast territory, covering from the outskirts of the Tibetan mountains to the Afghan mountain ranges, and from the Caspian to the Yellow Sea. But the only sovereign state of the Mongols is Mongolia.
Mongolia: A Reflection
In June 2019 I went on Intrepid Travel's Wild Mongolia group tour. We traveled from Ulaanbaatar to the northern tip at Lake Khovsgol, then back in a loop, touching desert ion the south on the way back to the capital. This video is the impressions and feelings the trip left me with.
Warning: this video contains images of goats. Consider yourself warned.

AMAZING WILDLIFE & EASTERN MONGOLIA
AMAZING WILDLIFE OF MONGOLIA
In the world of depleting wildlife resources Mongolia stands up as a unique place with most of its original wildlife species preserved to these days. This tour is a chance to see animals and birds one can only find in museums and zoos. However, this will require walking, tracking and hiding as wildlife would not really be wild if enclosed in corrals and available for patting by an unassuming visitor. So the more accessible species you can hope to see include Argali – largest sheep, gazelles, red deer, marmots and Przewalski’s horses ancestor of modern horse. The range of available birds is much wider. A pair of good binoculars will allow you observe even more of the great wildlife.
EASTERN MONGOLIA BIRDING TOUR
It is a dream trip of any birdwatcher that takes you to grassy steppes and wooded hillsides of North Eastern Mongolia. Wide open grasslands, flooded meadows and pools are home to many species such as Upland Buzzard, Amur Falcon, Great Bustard, Pallas’s Fish Eagle, Oriental Plover, Mongolian Lark, Siberian crane, Steppe eagle… to name just a few. Experience the nomadic culture which seemingly hasn’t changed for many hundreds of years. Our expert guides will ensure your ultimate enjoyment by offering skillful guiding.

Highlights of Mongolia from Above | Drone | DJI Mavic Pro | 4K
Mongolia has no shortage of beautiful scenery. As we traveled around the country, the scenery that surrounded us got more and more spectacular.
In the Gobi desert, the landscape was dry and rocky. In Central Mongolia, sand dunes were replaced by green pastures dotted with sheep, goats, cows, and yaks. And as we moved further North, pine forests became the dominant feature of the area.
Mongolia was truly one of the most beautiful countries we have traveled to this year, but it’s not one without challenges. Lack of infrastructure, difficulty in getting around, and a very short warm weather period, make this one of the more challenging destinations to visit. But those that do make it out here will attest, that the struggle is absolutely worth it!

Mongolia - Land of the Blue Sky
The most exciting part of Kodamasia Adventure started : using train to reach St Petersburg from Beijing. But before reaching Russia, there is a country that MUST be visited on the way: MONGOLIA.
Going to Mongolia was one of my dream. This country seems very unique: it was the biggest empire of the History of humanity, it’s 3 times bigger than France and 20 times less populated, it’s -40° in winter and +30° in summer, there are more horses than humans, there is the lowest density of population on Earth, and a natural diversity pretty uncommon on Earth, and half of the population living a nomadic life in the nature. For all of these reasons, travelling to Mongolia is something unique.
It took us around 48 hours to reach Oulan Bator (Ulaanbaatar), the Mongolian capital, from Beijing. To go from Beijing to Mongolia, we took a bus during 12hours from Beijing to the Mongolian border, then we used a “passer” (a guy that takes you in his car) to cross the border between China and Mongolia, and we took a Mongolian night train during 16 hours to cross whole country. This train ride was the most beautiful we ever had: crossing infinite green lands, the semi gobi desert, seeing so many animals and nomadic houses…
We stayed a few days in the capital city before going for a tour in the countryside. Ulaanbaatar is a big city, where half of the country population is living. Very contrasted between the developed city center, and the almost slums surrounding the city. You eat very good food there (nightmare for vegetarians), people are nice, there air is clean, and nightlife is awesome. We were staying at Sunpath Hostel, which organised us our tours in the countryside. This hostel is from far the best in UB, due to the kindness and professionalism of the staff. Top 3 hostels in my whole trip so far.
But you don’t go to Mongolia to experience UB. The main point of going to Mongolia is to explore the nature which is unique in the world.
Most of the hostels are also tour organizers. I opted for a week tour in the Orkhon Valley, green land of horses and nomadic people. During this tour, we slept every night in gers (traditional Mongolian “tents”), with nomadic families and real nomadic conditions. Our guide, Doggy, was cooking for us Mongolian food every night. Every day we were driving hundreds of kilometres on very bumpy roads to reach other places. We did horse ridind in paradisiac landscapes, camel riding in the semi Gobi Desert, saw some waterfalls, wild horses, and so many animals everywhere. This experience was the best I could have and I recommend it to everyone. 1 week is not long, I would have done more if I knew in advance how time would fly during this experience…
I had very high expectations before to go to Mongolia, and I’ve not been disappointed a minute. This country is UNIQUE, and the experience there is the best I could have. I recommend it to everyone who wants to live an amazing experience in a completely different place than what he already knows. Everything has been perfect and now I’m sure of one thing: I’ll be back to Mongolia soon!
