Indonesia Adventure Travel
Indonesia Adventure Travel: With 18,110 islands, 6,000 of them inhabited, Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world. About 240 million people live in this fourth most populous country in the world — after China, India and the USA — and by far the largest country in Southeast Asia. Indonesia also has the largest Muslim population in the world. Indonesia's population is on course to overtake the US and become the third largest before 2044. In the decade that ended in 2010, population growth remained high at 1.49% each year but there is substantial Muslim opposition to boosting family planning.
Indonesia markets itself as Wonderful Indonesia, and the slogan is quite true, although not necessarily always in good ways. Indonesia's tropical forests are the second-largest in the world after Brazil, and are being logged and cut down at the same alarming speed. While the rich shop and party in Jakarta and Bali. After decades of economic mismanagement 50.6% of the population still earns less than USD2/day according to figures compiled by the World bank in 2009. This had come down by 6% in the 2 years between 2007 and 2009.
Infrastructure in much of the country remains rudimentary, and travellers off the beaten track will need some patience and flexibility.
Enjoy your Indonesia Adventure Travel!
Magical East Java
Checkout my Instagram to see the photographs from my East Java roadtrip: and please help to share if you find this video enjoyable, that would mean a lot ;)
10 days motorcycle road trip through 1600kms of the magical East Java. What an amazing place! Beautiful beaches, off beaten path waterfalls, rich in biodiversity and the mountain regions are just “literally” on fire! I rode 1600km, taking countless pictures and footages along the way.
Some of the highlights from this trip were to be able to see hundreds of deer passing through a savannah in Baluran. Lucky enough to be able to witness a 1-meter long green turtle laying 120 eggs in Sukamade. Then there’s the blue fire in Ijen. And of course, catching the sunrise in Bromo never gets old.
Also worth mentioning, I met the beach cat which I thought really hilarious as she kept walking along as I walked from the village to the beach in Sukamade. It was a one km walk.
One of the most memorable things is when on my way to Sukamade (Meru Betiri National Park) I fell from the bike, not once, but twice. Damn my bike is just too heavy and it’s so not off-road friendly which where I took it :p
In most part of the trip, I went solo road trip aside from the first and the last days. Thanks to Puji and Arnanda for helping me capture some of these footages.
I hope I can go on and create videos like this for each region in Java!
So the route:
Pacitan (Beautiful beaches) - 0:16
Lumajang (Amazing waterfalls) - 0:45
Sukamade (See the turtles) - 1:36
Ijen (Blue fire and acid lake) - 2:18
Baluran (Wildlife in savanna) - 3:10
Bromo (Most beautiful volcanic scenery I've ever seen) - 3:35 til 4:13
The gears:
- Mavic Pro
- Lumix LX-100
- Lumix GX-8
- Olympus 17mm 1.8
- Lumix G Vario 45 - 200
- Go Pro H5
- Feiyu WG 2
- Zhiyun Crane Plus.
Thanks and help sharing if you like this video ;)

Located between the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean, this archipelago is the biggest country in South East Asia. Indonesia has more than 11,000 islands and is the biggest island country in the world.

Communities Conserving and Benefiting from Forest Ecosystems: the Vietnam Story
The biggest challenge for forest protection is poverty among the local people especially in the most remote areas. That is why in recent years the Vietnam Government issued many policies related to forest protection and development. One of them is the overall plan for 2011-2022, which includes the guidelines for payment for forest environmental services.

Borneo with Shannon Wild
The lowland peat-swamp forests of Indonesian Borneo are essential habitat for the world's largest arboreal animal ... the Orangutan. I revisited Borneo after 10 years to film these incredible primates in the wild.
Sadly, Indonesia is being deforested faster than any other country in the world, and it has everything to do with one product: palm oil. Large areas of tropical forests and other ecosystems have been cleared to make room for oil palm plantations.
It is estimated that over 50 Orangutan are killed every week due to deforestation. Forest homes are cleared by either heavy machinery or fire. Orangutans are left starved with no food source and often trapped in pockets of isolated areas with no way out and often wander onto plantations searching for food. As their forest home is destroyed they become vulnerable to poachers.
Did you know: The food industry is responsible for 72% world wide usage of palm oil? Next time you’re in the supermarket be sure to consider avoiding products that use unsustainable palm oil. To find out more visit - palmoilinvestigations.org

Isolation gave rise to many endemic species, and incredible biological diversity. Here, we can find tropical rainforests, mangrove swamp, and savanna. Each one has its own particular fauna and flora. In some cases, the species are exclusive to the archipelago, or may be even be restricted to a single island. On other occasions, they are varieties which can also be found in Asia or Australia, the two continents with which the islands of Indonesia came into contact. This is the case of the second largest bovine in the world, the banteng. On other occasions, they are varieties which can also be found in Asia or Australia, the two continents with which the islands of Indonesia came into contact. This is the case of the second largest bovine in the world, the banteng. Unlike man, few predators would even attempt to fell a prey of this size. Their main enemy lies hidden in the depths of the jungle, where it is virtually invisible.
It is the largest predator on the island, an animal feared and venerated by man since ancient times, the tiger.
It was precisely on this island, Java, that the first explorers found one of the most mysterious animals of the archipelago. The Javan rhinoceros is one of the rarest mammals on earth. The rhinoceros is one of the species which arrived in the archipelago during the glaciations, then found themselves cut off.

Trekking in Borneo
For my fourth and final episode of my Travel Indonesia series, Borneo is the last stop on my journey before heading back to Bali for two final relaxing weeks.
Going up river in the Tanjung Puting on a Klotok (traditional boat) we encounter many different species of monkeys and reptiles, got cosey with some eight-legged friends on a night hike, went fishing in the Coca-Cola river, but above all I came up close and personal to a rehabilitated wild Orangutan.
I hope you enjoy the finale of Travel Indonesia 2016.
Ask any questions in the comments, I'd be happy to answer them.
