Volunteer groups are helping to create walking trails throughout the diverse natural landscape. Educational opportunities abound. Picnic areas and benches will give visitors a place to rest, renew, and behold the scenic landscapes and the wonders of nature around them.
Honeybees reside in our rescue bee hives. Prairies are being restored to provide shelter and nectar for our pollinator friends. Habitat is provided for the local bat population in hollow tree stumps and in a man-made bat box. This protected verdant space is home to a wide variety of wildlife species, including wild turkey, deer, hogs, and rabbits; fish, snakes, and lizards; spiders, insects, and birds.
Won't you help us to revive and maintain this natural preserve for the benefit of San Antonio residents, and for the sake of wildlife? Please join us in keeping Bulverde Oaks Nature Preserve a living, thriving green space.
Your generous support is greatly appreciated. Your contribution today preserves open space that might otherwise be lost forever. As John Muir, naturalist and early advocate for the preservation of wilderness lands in the United States, said:
Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul alike.
Houston - City Video Guide
Houston is the most populous city in Texas and one of the largest cities in the USA, situated near the Gulf of Mexico.
Built on the businesses of energy, shipping and aerospace, Houston is also a very cultural city. Beneath the downtown skyline, the parklands of Discovery Green are filled with striking public art. Some of the most popular institutions in the nearby Museum District are the Menil Collection, Rothko Chapel and the Museum of Fine Arts.
Hermann Park, also within the district, is home to the soaring Pioneer Memorial and the Reflecting Pool. Set within the park is the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.
Kids will love the rides at Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier. The city's biggest attraction, of course, is Space Center Houston, where you'll experience mankind's greatest adventure.
When the sun starts to set, refuel on some fiery Tex Mex cuisine and get ready for another day in Houston, the brightest star in Texas.

As a beverage company water is in everything we do, it's a primary ingredient so we've really worked over the last four years after separating and becoming a stand-alone company to work on our efficiency and put KPIs or goals together to conserve water within our operations and we've made great progress, so we're working toward improving our water use within our operation. It was the next step for us, the obvious next step, to look outside of our operations at watersheds that feed into the communities and the manufacturing locations where we live and work.

So Dr Pepper is investing $1.1 million in the work we are doing here in Texas that will allow us to expand the footprint of where we work in some of these key areas. It will also allow us to invest additional money in restoring parts of these systems that are not yet restored, so again making sure that that sponge is functioning as an absorber of freshwater and it'll allow us to do things on this site like seed banking. So there's so much biodiversity here on Nash Prairie what you want to do is you want to develop a seed bank so we can work with private property owners all around and they can begin restoring their property.

Well, what we're finding is the food and beverage industry are very early adopters of freshwater conservation and the reason is because they're so dependent upon clean ample supplies of water to support their businesses. In fact, when they're looking at a business model they're looking at what is called a water scarcity map, they're looking around the world to see where water is going to be available and where the population's going in the future.

Houston ( (listen) HEW-stən) is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Texas and the fourth most populous city in the United States, with a census-estimated population of 2.312 million in 2017. It is the most populous city in the Southern United States and on the Gulf Coast of the United States. Located in Southeast Texas near Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, it is the seat of Harris County and the principal city of the Greater Houston metropolitan area, which is the fifth most populous metropolitan statistical area (MSA) in the United States and the second most populous in Texas after the Dallas-Fort Worth MSA. With a total area of 627 square miles (1,620 km2), Houston is the eighth most expansive city in the United States (including consolidated city-counties; it is the largest city in the United States by total area, whose government is similarly not consolidated with that of a county or borough).
Houston was founded by land speculators on August 30, 1836, at the confluence of Buffalo Bayou and White Oak Bayou (a point now known as Allen's Landing) and incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837. The city is named after former General Sam Houston, who was president of the Republic of Texas and had won Texas' independence from Mexico at the Battle of San Jacinto 25 miles (40 km) east of Allen's Landing. After briefly serving as the capital of the Texas Republic in the late 1830s, Houston grew steadily into a regional trading center for the remainder of the 19th century. The arrival of the 20th century saw a convergence of economic factors which fueled rapid growth in Houston, including a burgeoning port and railroad industry, the decline of Galveston as Texas' primary port following a devastating 1900 hurricane, the subsequent construction of the Houston Ship Channel, and the Texas oil boom. In the mid-20th century, Houston's economy diversified as it became home to the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.
Houston's economy has a broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. Leading in healthcare sectors and building oilfield equipment, Houston has the second most Fortune 500 headquarters of any U.S. municipality within its city limits (after New York City). The Port of Houston ranks first in the United States in international waterborne tonnage handled and second in total cargo tonnage handled. Nicknamed the Space City, Houston is a global city, with strengths in culture, medicine, and research.
