The Pearl of Africa - Hunting Uganda with Uganda Wildlife Safaris
Uganda, known as The Pearl of Africa offers a great variety of species to hunt, including Sitatunga, Ugandan Kob, Nile Buffalo, Nile Bushbuck and Jacksons Hartebeest to name a few. Hunting in Uganda is a very pleasant experience with friendly people, many of whom speak english. This is a highlight video reel about hunting in Uganda to showcase what Uganda and hunting with Uganda Wildlife Safaris has to offer.
It was fascinating to see how busy the rural towns were and everywhere we went it seemed like the villages were doing well and conducting some form of business/bartering. Uganda Wildlife Safaris run a great operation and everything was very well planned and all the hunting areas and camps are great. I would say above average compared to your regular wilderness type hunting experience. Traveling between the hunting areas allows you to cover a vast portion of the country. Crossing the great Nile River on a fairy late afternoon followed by a drive through the Murchison Falls National park wasn't so bad either!
Hunting sitatunga as well as hunting nile buffalo would be the primary two species for any big game hunter. The combination of hunting in the swamps and then moving camps to this picturesque open, green savanna type area for a totally different hunting experience all together makes Uganda a very versatile hunting destination. With many other game species to be added to the list whilst after the primary sitatunga, nile buffalo and nile bushbuck, a full bag is veritably a must for any serious hunter and collector. You can even hunt Gunthers Dik-dik! Some more information from Christian and his team from Uganda Wildlife Hunting Safaris:
Our core business is conservation through utilization
At UWS we are unashamedly ethical in our hunting operations as well as all other projects we are engaged in. We manage and operate exclusive wildlife areas outside national parks in cooperation with the district local governments as well as Uganda Wildlife Authority and private landowners to create employment and to stop uncontrolled and indiscriminate destruction of wildlife and their natural environment. Our success can be directly attributed to the partnerships we have formed with local communities in our areas of operation. We believe that through sharing not only our profits but our resources and knowledge with local communities, we are changing perceptions about wildlife and thus ensuring future generations will not only enjoy their natural treasures but will also have a means to generate a sustainable income from them.
Exploring the Pearl of Africa
The Republic of Uganda, referred to by Winston Churchill as the Pearl of Africa, is located in Eastern and Central Africa, and lies almost completely within the Nile basin. It is bordered in the east by Kenya, in the North by South Sudan, by the Democratic Republic of Congo in the West, Rwanda in the Southwest and Tanzania in the South.
The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria as well as a number of other lakes including Lake Kyoga, Lake Albert, Lake Edward, and the smaller Lake George.
Most of the important cities are located in the south near Lake Victoria, including the capital, Kampala, and the “airport city” of Entebbe.
Uganda is endowed with an extraordinary variety of specialty game, promises an unforgettable and highly satisfying hunting experience. Specialty game animals are the primary attraction for hunters to Uganda, and include a variety of endemic species, such as Uganda Kob and Jackson’s Hartebeest.
All though not endemic to Uganda, this is the prime location to collect exceptional East African Sitatunga and Nile Buffalo.
Adventure Solo Travel - Repel Sipi Waterfall in Uganda, East Africa
Repelling Sipi Waterfall in Uganda - 325 foot repel and I was traveling alone in Uganda, Africa.
Just me and 3 young guides that tethered me up with a rope and said, go ahead, lean back, let go and have fun! But not before they asked if I wanted to call anyone back home!
The waterfalls are about 5 hours from Kampala and lie on the edge of Mount Elgon National Park near the Kenyan border. Sipi has the most beautiful waterfall in all Uganda. There are three falls separated by steep hillsides. I repelled the largest of the three... of course I did!

Kampala, Entebbe, Reptile Village, Murchison Falls and Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda, 2016
A report on our travels in Uganda. We started out with a walking tour of Kampala. I highly recommend this 3 or 6 hour walk which is lead by Zulaika -
In Murchison Falls National Park is located on east and west sides of the Nile river. On the east side it's a rain forest and on the west it's more of a savanna. While at the Murchison Falls we saw a variety of wild animals. Hippos, crocodiles, baboons, elephants, jumping monkeys, monitor lizards and various bugs.
After the falls we returned to Kampala. After a day we took a Post Office bus to Kabale in the south west of Uganda. From Kabale we went to a crater Lake Bunyonyi that is over one mile above see level. The depth of the lake reaches 900 meters (over 2700 feet). Locals who live around the lake get around by canoes that are extremely hard to maneuver. People were very friendly and kids never missed an opportunity to practice their English.
We returned to Kampala and immediately left for Entebbe. We stopped by the Botanical Gardens where the original black and white Tarzan was filmed. In the morning on the day of our flights we visited the Reptile Village. Monitor lizards, crocodiles and chameleons were within reach.
Some of the things we didn't do was mountain and silver back gorilla tracking and chimpanzee tracking.
Overall, Uganda made a great impression on both of us. I highly recommend visiting this amazing country. We are definitely planing to return.
Pearl of Africa: The wonders of Wanale hill
The locals refer to Wanale as Bugisu’s temple of nature, the waters that flow from Wanale spread to every river in Uganda.

Our trip to Uganda took 10 days, and I'm sure I'll never forget it. On the top of the cake was the company of two of my sons, Marta and João, since Joana couldn't come due to her busy work agenda. Finally a great thanks to Carlos, long time true friend who, with Red Chilli Hideaway have designed the trip.
This is the second video of a serie of video I'll produce, and I pretend to give you a quick feel of this wonderful and friendly country, UGANDA!
Most tourists who come to Uganda visit more than one destination. You can combine your Queen Elizabeth safari with gorilla trekking safaris in Bwindi, or tour Murchison Falls National Park. For relaxation after your wildlife safari, you can visit Ssese Islands but if you are more interested in adventure, take on rafting on the nile, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale, Rwenzori Mountains climbing and Mount elgon hike.
Queen Elizabeth National Park occupies an estimated 1,978 square kilometres (764 sq mi). The park extends from Lake George in the north-east to Lake Edward in the south-west and includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes.
The park was founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park. It was renamed two years later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its wildlife, including Cape buffaloes, hippopotami, crocodiles, elephants, leopards, lions, and chimpanzees. It is home to 95 mammal species and over 500 species of birds. The area around Ishasha in Rukungiri District is famous for its tree-climbing lions, whose males sport black manes. Poachers killed six elephants in the park in 2015, triggering both anger and frustration within the Ugandan conservation community.
The park is also famous for its volcanic features, including volcanic cones and deep craters, many with crater lakes, such as the Katwe craters, from which salt is extracted.
Services in the park include a telecenter run by Conservation Through Public Health and the Uganda Wildlife Authority, neighboring the Queen's Pavilion, park lodges, game and scenic drives, and boat launches.

Kampala City Tour | Uganda???????? | Vlog 22
The old name of Uganda was Boganda. Uganda is considered as a pearl of Africa because of its beautiful lakes, birds and safaris. Kampala is the capital of Uganda. It is Situated in the country’s most prosperous agricultural section, Kampala exports coffee, cotton, tea, tobacco, and sugar. Although second industrially to Jinja (40 miles [64 km] east-northeast), the city has numerous food, metal-products, and furniture enterprises and a tractor-assembly plant. It is the headquarters for most of Uganda’s large firms and the chief market for the Lake Victoria region. Kampala has a technical institute and is the seat of Makerere University, which was founded in 1922 and became a university college in 1949 and a university in 1970; for many years it was the only such educational institution in East Africa. Kampala also has the Uganda Museum. The city is home to several mosques (including the white Kibuli Mosque), Hindu temples, and Christian churches (notably Namirembe Anglican Cathedral and Rubaga and St. Peter’s Roman Catholic cathedrals).
Kampala is the hub of the nation’s road network and lies on the railway from Kasese to Mombasa.

There is no way that words can explain the wonderful adventure that I had in Uganda this summer, so hopefully this video with speak for me.
I went with Greg and Toni, the forerunners of Solid Ground Youth Fellowship and Community Outreach, a non-profit ministry organization from Redding CA. Another family, the Browns, also joined us on this month long trip. During this time, we met and made many new friends, and experienced the work of God like I'v never seen before.
The music is by Alex Boye and Kevin Macleod, both who's songs provided very impactful feeling to this video.
