Drive from Lautoka to Ba, then Navala village
A visit to the traditional Fijian village of Navala should be on every tourists list of must do's while on Viti Levu. This trip is most suitable during the dry season, the roads become tricky if not impassable with a standard soloon car during the wet season (summer).
The drive from Lautoka to Ba is lovely scenery, quiet villages and rolling countryside, giving you views over the ocean to the Yasawa islands.
From Ba, you turn inland, and up into the hills, which is where the road turns to gravel, and becomes very rough. Travel times are approximately 50 minutes from Lautoka to Ba, and the same again from Ba to Navula.

We visit traditional Fijian Villages in the Nasamila District
The people of the Nasamila District defend their villages and their culture as a community. Aided by (foreign) governmental or organisational projects, they managed to protect themselves against the impacts of climate change - at least for now.
During a traditional Kava-Ceremony we learnt a lot about the history of the village and the traditions.
