Oneta waterfalls, declared Natural Monument in 2002, are located in the municipality of Villayón (Asturias), forming part of the Navia Historical Park.
Access to Natural Monument is pedestrian, accessed by a marked trail (SL.AS-5) from the village of Oneta. The village is located at Kilometer 4 of the regional road AS-36 in respect Villayón-Luarca.
A set of three large waterfalls on the river Oneta. The upper Firbia called, has a waterfall of over 15 meters high and is easily accessible. The second, The Firbia below or Ulloa, has a more difficult access and the third, The Maseirúa, is further away (you have to take extra security measures to contemplate). Have been caused by water erosion on rocks alternating bands of different degrees of resistance (quartzite very hard and resistant to soft and friable shales).
The moss on the rocks, the light filtering between the alders, willows, ash, ... and the water itself (its fumes and noise it produces), give a magical aura to this corner tucked between the mountains of Villayón. If we are lucky we may see otters, dippers and other animals on the banks or in the river itself.

Second best Hotel in Spain by Tripadvisor, cider culture in Asturias and many more...
Second best Hotel in Spain by Tripadvisor, cider culture in Asturias and many more...
======================================================
Cider is the traditional drink of Asturias in Northern Spain, and it is an important part of the social life.
You will learn how to pour it like the locals do from a great height to allow the cider to breathe during a cider bar crawl. All paired with local tapas at the best cider houses.
After the meal, you will enjoy a relaxing stroll around Ribadesella, an historic fishing port in Northern Spain, now turned into a bohemian coastal town full of charming architecture and a lively atmosphere with plenty of local bars and “sidrerías”, the name for local cider houses.
Enjoy a panoramic walk up to Ribadesella’s lighthouse to contemplate breath-taking views over the ocean and the mountains of Picos de Europa National Park.
A hidden gem, a five-star resort tucked into Asturias’ rolling hills will be the perfect place to relax at the end of an unforgettable day full of emotions. Acclaimed by Tripadvisor users as the best hotel in Northern Spain, we are very proud of taking our customers there to enjoy an unforgettable stay in the mountains. Gabriel Cualladó - Photography
Gabriel Cualladó was born in Massanassa, Valencia in 1925. He is considered to be the pioneer of photographic collections in Spain, and is one of the most important of the second half of the 20th Century. He was self-taught and read specialist magazines to increase his knowledge. In 1956, he became a member of the Royal Photographic Society, and one year later, of the AFAL Group. He belonged to the set of photographers who led the revival of photography in post-war Spain. Together with other artists, such as Leonardo Cantero, Paco Gómez Martínez, Gerardo Vielba, Ramón Masats and Francisco Ontañón , he took part in creating the short-lived group, La Palangana, in 1958. He also participated in several meetings organised by the magazine, ‘Nueva Lente’. He won the National Photography Award in 1994. He died in 2003.

Rivers
Rivers are bodies of fresh water that flow to the sea because of gravity. They can be very different from each other and they are essential for life. Some rivers flow quickly, others more slowly. Some rivers are narrow streams; others are so wide (like the Mississipi) that you cannot see from one side to the other.
Rivers are often beautiful. They are great for kayaking or just swimming. Rivers are homes for animals and plants. They are very important in our lifes because without rivers we could not drink fresh water.
It is important that you know your rivers, take care of them and visit them sometime with your family. It’s a great plan.
Pollution is a problem in many of our rivers. Factories pour their waste into them whcih contains harmful chemicals. Farmers also pollute rivers. The fertilizers they use on crops end up into the rivers when it rains.
Definitions:
Source: where a river begins.
Falls: a steep descent of the water of a river.
Flood: the rising of a river and its overflowing onto normally dry land.
Tributary: a branch that flows into the main stream.
Gravity: force that causes water to flow in a certain direction.
Dam: a barrier constructed to contain the flow of water. Normally it has a power station.
Reservoir: a lake in a river produced by a dam.
Mouth: where the river begins
Estuary: a water passage where the tide meets the river current.
Marshes: an area that has water and land. For example: Tablas de Daimiel.
Cantabrian watershed: rivers are close to the coast. They are short and fast flowing. There is a lot of rain. They have permanent flow. Bidasoa, Nervión, Ibaizábal, Asón, Miera, Pas, Saja, Nansa, Deva Sella, Nalón, Navia and Eo.
Atlantic watershed: here we have rivers that flow into the Atlantic Sea. There are two types:
a) The ones that flow into galician’s coast. They have an abundant flow. They are long because the mountains are far away from the coast. Miño, Tambre and Ulla.
b) Rivers from the Central Plateau: these are the longest in Spain. Their source is in the mountains close to the mediterranean. They have irregular flow. Duero, Tajo, Guadiana and Guadalquivir.
Mediterranean watershed: They are short rivers because the mountains where they are born are close to the sea. They have irregular flow. There are dry periods and periods with heavy raining that cause floods. The Ebro is the exception. Ebro, Turia, Júcar and Segura.

Mountain Villages by Drone Cuñaba and Winter folds/Invernales Peñamellera baja Asturias
#Asturias #Peñamellera #invernales #folds #drone #dron #Cuñaba is one of eight parishes (administrative divisions) in Peñamellera Baja, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. It is located in the Picos de Europa National Park.
Winter fold is a type of building or insulated enclosure to keep livestock for most of the coldest seasons, together with other types as majadas , barns , or corrals. Some ethnographers consider them endemic to the Cantabrian/Asturian mountain range. In the Hiighhland such folds are found for cows.
The winter folds, built and operated by their owners, are located in high meadows that, unlike the brañas , have an owner and are usually surrounded by stone walls . There are such rural constructions endemic to the Cantabrian region , often found in the Picos de Europa, both in Cantabria and Asturias .

elephant killers trump ,king juan carlos of Spain
The Spanish branch of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) says it
stripped the King of his position because his participation in the
hunting safari was incompatible with the group's goal of conserving
endangered species.
Killers of elephants as trumps. makes the future of the elephant be so urgent?
minorities as the American natives conserve the animal
kindom till the trumps and king Juan Carlos came to destroy
beautiful animals like this family oriented elephant
they are smart than the freak trumps that they don't like
nothing foreign or other than their skin color. Did they asked
these elephants if they a certificate of this earth
and they have the right as any to occupy this land. trump
sleeping with foreign girls and hating elephant and foreign
looking people.
The trumps are cowards why they don't take arm and go to Iraq, etc.
Karma already came to king Juan Carlos that he is landing on his nose while
He walks. The trumps will get their turn....
We can see a clear picture blacks, brown always doing something good
but whites like the trumps are the ones who destroy of cause
pain to animal and people or the buffalo...
Spain should take away a kings crown.....What an example ...
the sad part is that the Spanish people paid for this safari while
NBC employs the trumps and using that money to kill elephants..
what will happen if the elephant invade the trump towers....
DOnate to wildcru.org to save these animals from the GOP and Kings.
