It was a choice of three stations! Needham Market with 100,648 passengers, Calercruix with 100,404 passengers or Possilpark & Parkhouse with 100,182 passengers in 2017/2018. And fortunately, Needham Market came out of the envelope as the other two are in Scotland ...
Yes, to tie in with 100,000 a trip to a station with (as close as we could get!) the same number of annual passengers was in order. So a trip to Suffolk happened, handy as it involved one of my favourite trips, and a cheap first class ticket, so let's talk about cheap tickets too!

Needham Market Station (2/9/15)
I didn't expect to get a lot of action today but I was to be proved otherwise. Initially I was treated to two crossovers once again and the first one was made possible by the 08:50 departure to Ipswich arriving 6 minutes late.
A shortage of available Turbostar units once again resulted in a Super Sprinter unit working some Ipswich - Cambridge duties. The unit in question was 156 417. Single coach unit 153 322 was working the empty stock run from Ipswich to Crown Point Depot.
The rake of ex Virgin Mk3 coaches also made an appearance and the day was completed by two container trains passing through. Both were hauled by a GB Railfreight Class 66 Locomotive and they appeared in the following order:
[4L02] 03:50 Hams Hall to Felixstowe North Terminal
[4M38] 10:29 Felixstowe North Terminal to Birch Coppice

Needham Market Station (8/6/16)
On a bright sunny day in June I had a great time despite the heat. Soon after I had arrived at Needham Market Station a Class 153 unit (153 309) arrived into the station en route to Cambridge and at the same time the ex Virgin coaches raced past.
Other highlights of the day include two container trains and hire in loco 90 034 making an appearance once again. 153 309 would appear for a second time on its way back from Cambridge only 5 minutes behind schedule.
