Negombo is approximately 35 km north of Colombo City. Negombo is known for its huge and old fishing industry with busy fish markets and sandy beaches. The international airport of Sri Lanka is in Negombo Metropolis.

My last day in Sri Lanka I stayed in Negombo close to the airport. I walked about and had a look at the town and beach.
Negombo The best of Sri Lanka
Negombo is a city on the west coast of Sri Lanka, north of the capital, Colombo. Near the waterfront, the remains of the 17th-century Dutch Fort now house a prison. Negombo Lagoon, lined with fishermen’s huts, feeds into the Dutch-era Hamilton Canal. The canal leads south to Colombo. Neoclassical St. Mary’s Church, completed in the 1920s, features a ceiling decorated with vivid religious paintings.

Negombo Beach (the town) is not a special interesting place to stay but a day or two is ok.

In this vlog, I head out to Jetwing Beach Negombo for a one day trip with my family. Jetwing Beach is one nice place I should say for a day outing. Good food, good pool and such a chill place. Everyone at Jetwing was very friendly and nice to us. Kudos to Jetwing for having such a nice team.
