For our 2nd wedding anniversary, we decided to celebrate in the Mother Land, Johannesburg, South Africa. It is the first for both of us travelling to Africa, so you can only imagine our excitement!!! From eating Braai (bbq), impala burgers and day-to-night parties, Johannesburg DID NOT disappoint. In this vlog, we hopped on the Gautrain to explore, Sandton city, Nelson Mandela Square and ate in the trendy neighbourhood of Maboneng Precinct. Food, music and drinks...WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?!?!? To wrap up the day, we ate and grabbed drinks with some friends at the sky-bar, Living Room and officially ended the evening with some South Africa Idol Karaoke...:P

Nelson Mandela Square is a Shopping Centre in Sandton, it is attached to the large Sendton City Shopping Centre. It was renamed on 31 March 2004 after a 6-metre statue of Nelson Mandela was installed on the square to honour the famous South African statesman.

Connect with Dave: Last month I was grateful to have some time in Mandela Square in the heart of Johannesburg. An amazing man who survived prison to change a nation and be revered by the world. Years ago my brother was invited to sit down with him and chat for over an hour in a hotel lobby in Mali. A very gracious and intelligent man, Nelson Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
