Nemuro Kuruma-ishi
The Nemuro Kuruma-ishi is a rock located on the coast of Nemuro City. It is a basalt radial joint in the shape of a wheel, and is believed to have been formed over 60 million years ago. Measuring around 6 meters in diameter, this unique rock formation been designated as a Natural Monument of Japan. At the site, you can also enjoy bird-watching or a view of the Pacific Ocean stretching into the horizon.
