MANJUSHREE TRAIL- HIking around Kathmandu Valley ( Kakani-Dhulikhel Section)

Named after the Great Bodhisatva Manjushree, the Manjushree trail is a circuit hike aound Kathmandu valley, going through the same trail that Manjushree took while circling the valley before cutting the gorge in Chobhar. We did the Balthali-Godawari section last monsoon. This time, we hiked the Kakani-Nagarkot section, a fairly comfortable trail of around 6 days in and out of the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park.
We encountered more wildlife than we expected, had our food stolen by monkeys, stayed with the Babas, ate a lot of Aiselus (wild berries) and yeah, drank the water of Bagmati. The best part about this well marked and mapped trail is the options you get. You can hike for a day or two or go for the full circuit hike of two weeks, skip or jump directly to any section you please. This trail is a hiker's paradise.

Where to go this weekend ? Bethanchowk 3000m | Narayanthan - Highest Hill | Short Trek Nepal
Narayanthan is believed to be the highest peak residing at the southern hills, the Mahabharat Range. The altitude around 3021 m boast the magnificent view of panoramic mountain ranges from Dhaulagiri to Makalu region. A hilltop itself is sufficient to serve the painstaking view of more than 50 peaks including 8 peaks above 8000m. Moreover, the hilltop is also the best place to have the vertical view of Nepal with the Tibetan peaks at north & the Gangetic plain of India at south. Vast view of Kavre valley & Bagmati basin of Makwanpur is also the part of interest within the lush of flora and fauna. Specially, the variety of rhododendron during spring and snow clad peaks during winter are most noticeable. Actually the area got its name from the small temple enshrined at the lap of the hill i.e. termed as Bethanchok Narayanthan. As Dhulikhel is popular as Queen of the hills, Bethanchok is also termed as King of the hills. It is about 30km. far from Dhulikhel and about 7km walking distance from Dhungkharka. [Copied from:

MUKTINATH
Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage spot in Old Tibet, which is now part of Nepal. It is situated in Mustang region, next to the Tibet border and is famous for its beautiful temple complete with 108 water taps which pilgrims brave in order to cleanse their soul. The holy Kaligandaki River flows through Muktinath, carrying prehistoric Shalikram fossils, a sacred object in Hinduism as an idol for Lord Vishnu. People come from all over the world to see this strange lunar-like land and visit the monasteries, caves and deserts in Muktinath.
MANAKAMANA
Manakamana is a tiny village 105km south-west of Kathmandu. It's home to one of Hinduism's most holy temples, the Manakamana Temple. Situated on top of a 1.3km hill, this temple provides a short trek and beautiful views from the top. The home of Goddess Bhagwati, an incarnation of Parvati, Manakamana Temple is visited by thousands of Hindu pilgrims every year.

Chitwan National Park needs no introduction! Famous for its rhinos, elephants, crocodiles and of course, the regal Bengal Tiger, Chitwan National Park is part of Nepal's golden triangle with Pokhara and Kathmandu, making it one of the favourite spots for tourists. Six youth from Bhimphedi Children Home did one of the historic trekking from Bhimphedi to Kathmandu from 30th October to 1st November 2018. This Trekking route was the only way to get to Kathmandu Valley during the Rana Rule as people weren't allowed to get to Kathmandu Valley so easily.
The motive of this trekking is to teach our children about the history and promote the trekking which has been abandoned in spite of its importance.

それから私は、ナガルコットをバスで降りることにした。
ナガルコート（英:Nagarkot）は、ネパールの首都カトマンズから約35㎞東方の海抜2100mの山地の村。ヒマラヤの展望台としてサランコートとともに知られる[1]。
東にヒマラヤ山脈を望み、エヴェレストからさらに東の山脈までが一望できる。正面にはランタン・ジュガール山群が大きく見え、さらにポカラの北方にそびえるアンナプルナ山群まで遠望できる。徒歩で1時間のマハデブポカリ山頂の「View Tower」という展望台からはさらに展望がきき、南方にインド平原へ至る山並みが眺望できる。特に早朝に刻々と色を変えるヒマラヤの展望が美しい[1]。

Nagarkot is a former Village Development Committee located 32 km east of Kathmandu, Nepal in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone and as of 2015 part of Nagarkot Municipality. At the time of the 2011 census it had a population of 4571 and had 973[1] houses in it.[2] At an elevation of 2,195 meters, it is considered one of the most scenic spots in Bhaktapur District. It is known for a sunrise view of the Himalayas including Mount Everest as well as other peaks of the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal. Nagarkot also offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley.[3] The scenic beauty of the place makes it a very popular hiking route for tourists.[4] It is located approximately 7000 ft (2000 m) above sea level and 28 km from Kathmandu International Airport.
Nagarkot commands one of the broadest views of the Himalayas in the Kathmandu valley (8 Himalayan ranges of Nepal out of 13 from here). The ranges include Annapurna range, Manaslu range, Ganesh himal range, Langtang range, Jugal range, Rolwaling range, Mahalangur range (Everest range) and Numbur range with views of the Kathmandu valley and Shivapuri National Park.
For those active nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, there are lots of hiking opportunities to do in and around Nagarkot. Among them, nagarkot eco trail (nature walk)along with Nagarkot panoramic hiking trail is the most popular ones. You can also do Paragliding with Everest view in Nagarkot.
Situated in a strategic location, Nagarkot was an ancient fort of the Kathmandu valley built to monitor the external activities of other kingdoms. Later, it became a summer retreat for the royal family before becoming popular as an international hill station.
