ONE MONTH IN NEPAL: KATHMANDU, POKHARA, BHAKTAPUR AND EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK
GOKYO TREK TRIP NEPAL 2019 + BHAKTAPUR DURBAR SQUARE + NAGARKOT
Gokyo-Ri trek was an awesome trip. It was my first time entering into Everest Region. The thought of landing in Lukla blew me away as I remember watching documentaries about dangerous airports and Lukla topped the list. We were blessed with great weather throughout the trek, except for the 1-day delay in Lukla on the way back due to heavy rain.

Bhaktapur 32 Secret Exits Tour
Hi Everbody,
Bhaktapur city is renown for its history and cultural lifestyle. It boasts about one thousand years of legacy followed in traditional life style. Its ancient civilization is well reflected in different monuments, art, sculptors and heritage sites.
The people living in this city are called Newar. The Newari people love to live in close neighbourhood enjoying different feast and festivals. The city was also designed considering the security concern amidst contemporary mogul invasion and possible clash with neighbouring kingdoms.
As a result, the city has numerous secret exits. Today Many of them are probably unknown even to the local residents.
In this video I will try to show the 32 different exits connecting to the major heritage squares.
Besides the popular four squares namely Bhaktapur Durbar square, Dattatraya, Taumadhi and pottery square, I am going to show the 32 secret exits - the actual antique part yet to be explored. The exits are still used by the local people to avoid crowded market street or to make short cut commute.
If you are interested to join this exclusive tour contact us at nepaltrekways@gmail.com or Mobile: (+977 ) 9841369011 ( Hari)
The tour commences from tourist Bus park Byasi Bhaktapur every day sharp at 10 am.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

We love Nepal. Why? This tiny country offers so much to travelers in search of amazing vistas, trekking, outdoor activities, cultural experiences, and fascinating cities. Despite its poverty, its gritty and overcrowded city streets, and its difficult living conditions, we instantly fell in love with this country.
Nepal offers some of the best trekking options in the world, with both the Annapurna Circuit and the trek to Everest Base Camp. But there is more to Nepal than just the Himalayas. The Kathmandu Valley is home to one of the densest concentrations of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world. Pokhara is the adventure capital of Nepal but it is also a wonderful place to relax and to get your yoga fix. Walking the streets of Thamel in Kathmandu was one of our favorite activities.
Nepal is a budget traveler’s haven, offering world class activities at extremely low prices. Consider visiting here this year…you will make some phenomenal travel memories.

Travel Tips
==========
When To Go
High season is October and November. The skies are clear and the weather is still relatively warm. This is when trekkers flock to Nepal, hitting the trails in the Himalayas. Shoulder season is in the spring during the months of March and April. If you trek to Everest Base Camp during this time you will be able to see the tents of Everest climbers at base camp. The monsoon brings rain from June to September, making trekking difficult. During the winter months, trekking in the Himalayas is possible, but be prepared for very cold conditions and snow.
Power Cuts, aka “Load Shedding”
Nepal does not have the infrastructure to provide electricity to all of its people all of the time. Be prepared for daily power cuts in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and other cities. There is a power schedule that is loosely followed.
Traveling Overland in Nepal
If you plan to travel in Nepal by car or bus, build extra time into your schedule. Travel in Nepal is slow. A 200 km journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara took us eight hours. Yes, traveling this way may be frustrating at times but it is an eye opening experience.
Top Experiences
==============
Trekking to Everest Base Camp. This is one of the main reasons people travel to Nepal. This is an epic travel experience, a multi-day trek through the Himalayas to the world famous Everest base camp. And yes, you can do it with kids! If you are traveling to Nepal as a family, you might like to read Trekking to Everest Base Camp with Kids.
Annapurna Circuit Trek. Believe it or not, this is Nepal’s most popular trek. Some say the views are more better here than on the journey to Everest.
Kathmandu. This city has got some serious character. The streets are narrow, dusty and crowded. Motorbikes, tuk-tuks, and people compete for space on the roads. Prayer flags flap in the wind. Shops filled with souvenirs compete for your money in Thamel. Kathmandu is chaotic, beautiful, dirty, overwhelming, energetic, friendly, loud, and tons of fun. Walking the streets here was so enjoyable for us, full of unexpected surprises
Lumbini. Lumbini is the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism. This holy site is home to numerous temples and is a place of pilgrimage for many people.
Pokhara. Best spot in the world to go paragliding? Some say it is. Pokhara is also a great spot to relax, do yoga, go shopping, and hike up to the World Peace Pagoda.
UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Patan and Bhaktapur. Both of these cities, located near Kathmandu, are home to ancient temples. Unfortunately, some of them have been badly damaged or destroyed by the earthquake of 2015. These are places still worth seeing…visiting here could be like watching history unfold as Nepal slowly rebuilds some of its holiest sites.
Backpacking Nepal with Children - Kathmandu and Bhaktapur
Our final destination in Nepal was Kathmandu, where we did a quick side trip to Bhaktapur. Both places are renowned for their beautiful religious architecture and we were blown away by the wonderful surprises around every corner!

There are many things to do in Bhaktapur Nepal. Post Nepal 2015 Earthquake, Bhaktapur is a gleaming town of old Newari traditions, people watching, ornate wooden pagodas, palace courtyards and shopping.

We organize complete travel/tourism related services in Nepal which includes Trekking in Nepal. One of the great treks in Nepal is hiring your own local guide so Nepal guide trekking is on the way to your travel. This is the most flexible, rewarding, and fun option, and also keeps all of the money spent directly in the local economy. In fact, hiring your own local guide is usually cheaper than trekking in a big group with a western company, but it also requires some legwork to ensure that you are able to find a great guide.

Day 1| BEST TREK Around KATHMANDU | Awesome Day of EPIC ft Wanderlust Himalaya Adventures
Trekking in Nepal. I wanted to squeeze in a short trek around Kathmandu. I did the Kopasi- Balthali- Namobuddha-Dhulikhel trek with Wanderlust Himalaya Adventures. It’s one of the best hikes near Kathmandu and it was such an awesome trekking day in Nepal. It is a popular two day trek around Kathmandu Valley. Our start is located 2 hours east of downtown Kathmandu. Our first day's goal ends in Dhulikhel.
I did a shout out to my good friend Nabaraj, who runs his own trekking and tour company. He gave me a customized tour so I could film the valley and village life- I love filming human stories. I wanted epic scenery but also wanted to see village culture and lifestyles. But this trek surpassed my wildest expectations and you’ll see why.
Trivia: initially Nabaraj sold me my very first trekking tour a decade ago when he was just 19 years old and worked for another company. I’m honored to be taking one of his Kathmandu trekking tours! My first trek was Bhaktapur to Nagarkot, which is another top trek around Kathmandu as well.
