Neroberg, Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany - 6th August, 2014

Water is taken on at the top and released at the bottom, thus creating a weight differentiation.
The film features views of the train and viaduct, the ride up the hill, views from the Neroberg station of a train descending, and the taking on of water.
After which the views are at the Neroberg featuring a First World War memorial, the magnificent views over Wiesbaden, some zoomed and panned shots of the city centre, fields of grape vines, and some of the architectural structures at the top of the Neroberg.
The film ends with the view from the Nerobergbahn descending the mountain, most of this footage is speeded up 4 times.

With a height of 245 m, the Neroberg is the local mountain of the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden . The popular recreation area is located on the northern outskirts of the Taunushöhen. The name Neroberg is probably derived from the already mentioned in the 13th century Nersberg (= rear mountain). From Neresberg, Nerosberg finally became the name Neroberg.
For viticulture - Count Philipp of Nassau-Weilburg left in 1525 the vineyard on Neroberg invest. In 1900 the vineyard became the property of the city of Wiesbaden. The vineyard domain Rauenthal manages today the vineyard. Incidentally, Kaiser Wilhelm was given a bottle of Neroberger at the inauguration of the Wiesbadener Kurhaus. The most expensive bottle of the situation, a Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese from 1893, was auctioned in 1986 for as much as 35,000 DM.
Take bus line 1 from Wiesbaden main station to the final stop Nerotal near the valley station of the mountain railway. From this station it is only a two-minute walk to the valley station of the Nerobergbahn. Those arriving by car will find a parking space at the valley station of the Nerobergbahn. On the mountain there is a large parking lot in the area of Opelbad without parking fee.
The listed water ballast railway has been operating on the Neroberg since 1888. At 438 m track length, the railway overcomes a height difference of 83 m. With a comfortable 7.3 km / h, it goes up the mountain. Incidentally, the rack only serves to brake the cars. · The drive is provided by the weight of the tank filled with up to 7,000 liters of water, which is inserted in each of the upper cars and pulls up the lighter sidecar. Both cars are connected by a non-powered rope. Below, the water is drained into a cistern and then pumped up into the upper cistern. The steam-powered pump was replaced in 1916 by a pump with electric drive.

Kurhaus in Wiesbaden, Wiesbaden (Germany) - Travel Guide
Take a tour of Kurhaus in Wiesbaden in Wiesbaden, Germany -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
The most popular large-scale meeting place in Wiesbaden, Germany is the magnificently designed Kurhaus.
Kurhaus means spa house, which was once its purpose in this well-known spa town.
The building is designed in the neoclassical style, reminiscent of ancient Greece and Rome, with columns, porticos, and even a dome.
The words Aquis Mattiacis are inscribed over the entrance to the Kurhaus and mean the waters of the Mattiaci.
So many people were visiting the Wiesbaden spas that the old spa house was demolished in 1907 to make way for the larger current building.
At night, the Kurhaus transforms into a glowing palace, with a golden dome and a glimmering fountain.
