Museum Beit HaGdudim - Netanya, Israel
Beit Hagdudim en Avihayil fue establecido en 1961 por los veteranos de la Legión Judía de la Primera Guerra Mundial.
El museo está dedicado a los Judios de Eretz Israel (la Tierra de Israel), Egipto, Gran Bretaña, Estados Unidos, Canadá y Argentina que se ofrecieron voluntariamente para servir en el ejército británico con el fin de ayudar a liberar a la Tierra de Israel de los turcos.
La exposición saca a la luz un emocionante capítulo que describe las actividades de las Legiones judíos dentro de la marco del ejército británico durante la Primera Guerra Mundial (1914-1918).
Estas unidades de voluntarios judíos de la diáspora y de Palestina, se dedicaron activamente durante la guerra a la implimentación de los objetivos sionistas, para liberar a la Tierra de Israel de la regencia turca.
La visita al museo, le llevará de vuelta a los días pre-estatales. Algunos de los jóvenes voluntarios que aparecen en las fotografías se convirtieron en más adelante los constructores del Estado de Israel. Cerca de la salida, en la sección La cadena no se ha roto todavía se puede encontrar fotografías de Yaacov Dori, que se convertiría en el primer jefe de estado mayor del ejército israelí durante la Guerra de la Independencia. También aparecen el Mayor general Yigael Yadin, el General Yitzhak Rabin, el General Mordechai Gur y el Mayor General Rafael Eitan.
El ala está dedicado a los más de treinta mil hombres y mujeres del Yishuv (asentamiento judío en Eretz Israel) que se ofrecieron voluntariamente para servir en el ejército británico, la Royal Navy y la Royal Air Force durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939-1945), donde Moshe Shertok (Sharett), jefe del Departamento de la Agencia Judía de Estado, estaba a la cabeza de las actividades de reclutamiento del Yishuv.
