New East End Pool Construction Update #2
Work has begun at the site of the future East Windsor Community Pool. The $6.4-million pool will feature a splash pad, therapy pool and at least a six-lane competitive pool as well as a built-in wheelchair ramp to access both pools.
The pool will initially serve as a warm-up facility for the 2016 FINA World Championships, which will be staged in a larger temporary pool inside the WFCU’s main bowl next December, and it will remain afterward as a legacy piece for the community.
The FINA World Swimming Championships 25m is one of the “jewels in the crown” of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) and the Windsor 2016 edition will feature nearly 1,000 of the world’s best swimmers from more than 170 countries. It will also be the very first time that the Championships have been held in Canada. As a result of Windsor hosting this world renowned event, the legacy pool will then provide residents with an amazing recreational space to learn and play, while continuing to promote healthy active lifestyles.
Construction is expected to be complete by August 2016, with the FINA championships taking place December 7th to the 11, 2016.

East End Neighbourhood in Brandon Manitoba
The East End is a well developed neighbourhood with a lot of potential.
Made up mostly of starter to mid range homes, and close to many amenities, the East End is an ideal location to enter the housing market, whether you’re on your own or starting a family.
Inside the King George (K-8) and Riverview (K-8) catchment areas, as well as plenty of green spaces and playground, the area has a lot of appeal for young families.
Very close to Brandon Regional Health Centre, the East End is an investment opportunity for those working in health care or related field, or those who are in need of support.
With the Eastend Community Centre’s outdoor rink and outdoor pool in the heart of the community,as well as the new Rideau Park water park, recreational activities are never far from your door, regardless of the season.
Largest and oldest T-rex skeleton ever discovered goes on display in Saskatchewan
The home of the world's largest and oldest Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur opened this weekend in southwestern Saskatchewan.
Starting Saturday, the T. rex Discovery Centre in the community of Eastend will open its doors to visitors looking for a glimpse of Scotty -- the name given to the big dino.
An excavation that began in 1991 led to Scotty's discovery.
Researchers at the University of Alberta declared in March that he was the world's largest T. rex and also the largest dinosaur skeleton ever found in Canada.
Scotty will also be featured in a new exhibition at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum this summer.
