Jamestown Gateway to the Mother Lode - FULL VIDEO TOUR (Jamestown, CA)
Very shady place to visit after 5pm, don't travel alone! A lot of drug users and pot heads, be careful! I guess there aren't that many jobs in town!
Jamestown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tuolumne County, California, United States. The population was 3,433 at the 2010 census, up from 3,017 at the 2000 census. Formerly a California Gold Rush town, Jamestown is now a California Historical Landmark.[2] Jamestown is the home of Railtown 1897 State Historic Park and the Sierra Railway, which operates steam passenger trains.
A scene from the movie Hidalgo was filmed in Jamestown. Exterior scenes from the TV series Petticoat Junction, The Wild Wild West, and Green Acres were filmed in and near Jamestown.
Tuolumne County, the Sierra Railway and Railtown 1897 SHP -- whose historic shops, Roundhouse and famous Sierra No. 3 locomotive -- have long served as a filming location for the film and television industry with more than 150 movies and TV shows filmed at Railtown 1897 SHP. Commemorated on the “Walk of Fame” are currently 30 productions, including High Noon (1952), Petticoat Junction (1963), Back to the Future III (1990), Lassie (1954), Little House on the Prairie (1974), My Little Chickadee (1940), Unforgiven (1992) and even a medallion dedicated to Huell Howser.
After the dedication, “Walk of Fame” attendees are also encouraged to spend the day at Railtown 1897 SHP, admission costs are as follows: $5 for adults, $3 for youths ages 6-17 and free for children five and under. For more information, call 209-984-3953 or visit railtown1897.org.

What Would Happen if “The BIG ONE” (Earthquake) Hits the WEST COAST
When most people think of the “Big One,” they often think about an earthquake caused by the San Andreas Fault. However, there’s actually a more dangerous fault called the Cascadia Subduction Zone. The Cascadia Subduction Zone, also known as the Cascadia Fault, is almost 700 miles long and stretches the west coast of North America from Vancouver Island to Northern California. For some perspective, an earthquake caused by the San Andreas Fault could reach 8.3 on the Richter scale, but a Cascadia earthquake will be more like a 9.2. That means that the quake could shake for up to four and a half minutes.
