Here is the full version of the Fireworks for Canada's 150 Birthday Here in New Westminster British Columbia Canada!
So as I'm sure everyone knows it was Canada's 150th Birthday this past weekend July 1 2017! So we decided to head downtown New Westminster BC to enjoy the Canada Day Fireworks!
It was a blast! Trevor was sick for part of the day so we didnt get to do as much as we wanted to, but he pushed through and we were able to go to the fireworks !
Hope everyone had a great Day celebrating our countries 150th Birthday!

New Westminster Uptown-Royal City Centre Mall-New Westminster BC
New Westminster Uptown has a couple of malls. The Royal City Centre Mall, shown in this video, is within a short walking distance of New Westminster Mall.
New Westminster is peculiar in that its Uptown is considered more of a city center than its downtown which is the area close to the Fraser River.
The city hall is somewhere in the middle of the hill in between. New Westminster could have been the Capital of British Columbia to this day had it not been replaced in favor of Victoria during the beginnings of this beautiful province of Canada.

In 1859, the city was selected as the first capital of the new colony of British Columbia and named the “New Westminster” by Queen Victoria, after her favourite part of London. With this naming by the Queen, New Westminster gained the moniker “The Royal City”, and became the first city in Western Canada.
New Westminster was selected the first capital of British Columbia in 1859. In 1866 the colonies of British Columbia and Vancouver Island united as “British Columbia” and the capital of the Colony of Vancouver Island, Victoria, was made the capital of the newly amalgamated colony.

A nice little Oasis on the edge of old New West. The original Capital of BC, here is where it all started. This was a great little hotel with a perfect view, if you love the water - like I do. Spotless and quiet - the room was a treat and hard to leave the next morning. The Beachhouse was a decent restaurant, the Paddlewheeler ( pub not the boat ) would be a very comfortable place to kill a few brews. Good little corner store right around ...the corner. I was concerned about the Railway and the Skytrain but they weren't factors - no screeching rails, no blowing whistles. Off the beaten tourist path but still an easy drive to the tourist stuff and there is always Skytrain if you don't want to drive.
