Jack Sheppard Trailer
Presented by The New Wolsey Youth Theatre
18 October 2011 - 22 October 2011. The New Wolsey Studio, Ipswich.
Meet The Thief-Taker General, Daniel Defoe, Dribbling Wilf, The Incredible Porty McFigg, Edgeworth Bess and Blueskin Blake -- just some of the many characters that can only go to make up the cast of Jack Sheppard -- and a true story it is too!
Ken Campbell's rollicking tale of treachery and dastardly deeds is an anarchic comedy romp through a fascinating but little known part of our history. Be warned!

We are all married, bound by a contract.
But what are the terms of this relationship? And can we consider a divorce?
Led by Amit Lahav, Gecko’s latest creation is inspired by the complexities of human nature: the struggle between love and anger, creation and destruction, community and isolation. In a blur of wedding dresses and contractual obligations, our extraordinary ensemble of international performers guide audiences through a dystopian world in which we are all brides, wedded to society.
Combining movement, imagery and provocative narratives into Gecko’s trademark style, our seventh touring production brings these contracts into question with an emotionally charged and spectacular performance.
We all want to believe in our journey, but where are we heading? Is it too late to stop, to go back, to fall in love, to start again?
We performed our first work in progress sharing of The Wedding in June 2016 at Pulse Festival in Ipswich. Further development has then continued throughout Autumn 2016. Join us on the next stage of the show’s journey as we embark upon its Creation Tour in Spring 2017.
Supported by Arts Council England and Ipswich Borough Council. The Wedding is a Gecko production. Co-commissioned by DanceEast and New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich, Northern Stage, HOME Manchester and Beijing 707 N-Theatre Co. Ltd (Edinburgh Fringe Showcase in China), in association with Lighthouse, Poole and Warwick Arts Centre, supported by The Point, Eastleigh. With thanks to Lattice Lodge Accommodation in Ipswich.

Grandma Saves The Day - Rehearsal Trailer
Friday 26 April - Saturday 18 May
Ipswich in the late 1980’s and the Giles family are thrown into confusion when the upwardly mobile Stinkletons move in next door. It takes Grandma Giles to sort it all out with a few swift blows from her brolly and her familiar battle cry – ‘Gertcha!’.
Combining the much loved Giles cartoon characters with classic hit songs from the eighties including Our House, Simply the Best, Wake Me Up Before You Go- Go and many more, all played live by our multi-talented company of actor-musicians, this is a fast-moving, funny and pop filled comic strip for all the family.
Directed by Pete Rowe, and in true New Wolsey style, this show is not be missed!

Heart of Darkness (trailer)
Co-produced by Marche Teatro and Cast. Supported by Arts Council England, Lancaster Arts at Lancaster University and Theatre by the Lake.
Following the popular and critically acclaimed adaptation of Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms, imitating the dog turn their attention to Joseph Conrad’s extraordinarily influential novel, Heart of Darkness.
Written more than 100 years ago, amid the optimism at the turn of a new century, it’s a tale of lies and brutal greed and of the dark heart which beats within us all. Now re-sited in a timeless Europe, in a forsaken landscape lost to the destructive lust for power, it emerges as a tale absolutely for our time.
This bold re-telling of Conrad’s classic is a visually rich, multi-layered work which fuses live performance with digital technology.
The performers enter the stage, into uncharted territory. They are adrift with a story that they know they must tell. As they wait for the turn of the tide, the story unfolds like an animated Cinemascope graphic novel on the hanging projections screens above their heads.
Their story is Conrad’s story, of the voyage into the perilous unknown. And, as we continue the journey, it becomes our story, exposing the dehumanisation that paved the way for the horrors of the 20th Century, and countless horrors yet to come.
The heart of darkness must be found. The story is impossible to tell, but it must be told.
