This is a video of the glass blowers at the Ajka Crystal Factory in Ajka, Hungary. These glass blowers are working on a huge black bowl (you will notice one person walking by with a finished bowl in hand heading for the cooling rack). Notice how strong the glass blower has to be to handle such a large item!
The Moody Whanganui River In Flood 2013
New Zealand.
The Whanganui River rose to 14.6m at Pipiriki at 6pm on Tuesday 15th October 2013. That peak flow passed through Wanganui township at 6am on Wednesday 16th. The town escaped unscathed from what could have been a major flood event.
This 14.6m 'fresh' was the highest the river had been since the similar October 2000 flood. (One and a half metres at Pipiriki could be considered normal summer river levels for reference)
The first part of this video was filmed at 2:30am outside the Whanganui Riverboat Centre, Taupo Quay. A high tide had passed some hours earlier and it was considered that the main part of the danger had passed as well. The second part of the video was filmed at 8:30am from the WRC and along Moutua Quay, after the peak flow had passed but as another high tide was approaching.
