Cathedral Cove Sea Kayaking // Coromandel, New Zealand
This was one of my favorite experiences on the trip–kayaking out on the open ocean and through caves on our way to Cathedral cove. The cove (accessed by ferry or kayak) is next to a beautiful beach, where we stopped to have some hot chocolate and biscuits before heading back. Several movies have been filmed here, including scenes from the Chronicles of Narnia. I highly recommend this adventure!

New Zealand Common Dolphins
I decided to ditch the kayak and instead opt for a day out on the Bay Explorer, a local Tauranga 'adventure' boat that that goes out lokoing for marine life of all kinds. On this day, we got lucky with around 250-300 dolphins, and I would have to say, it would have been one of the best days ever! Get back to nature, people...it really is good for the soul!

New Yorkers in New Zealand - Exploring the Northland Region of the North Island, New Zealand
Everyone talks about visiting the South Island of New Zealand, but we think you should also visit the North Island. It’s stunning.
Before heading to our next WWOOFing exchange, we rented a car and explored the Northland Region of the North Island for five days. We could have spent another week here, it’s THAT gorgeous!
We take you on a journey of the North, exploring beaches and bays along the way. Stops include: Goat Island Marine Reserve, Ngunguru, Rarawa Beach, Waikato Bay, Matai Bay, Karikari Beach, Cape Reinga, Te Paki Giant Sand Dunes.
In this episode, we sit back and let the footage roll! Hope you enjoy the beauty of the Northland as much as we did.
UNFORTUNATELY, we had to send our beloved drone to the drone doctor in California… we’ll tell you all about it in this episode.
Shoutouts for our latest and greatest supporters!
A HUGE thanks to our friends, Phil, Kristin & Dave, Pam, and Daphne! If YOU want a shoutout (I know you do!), all you have to do is buy the CameraMan a coffee!

Holes in the Rocks New Zealand
A two week sea kayaking trip from Mimiwhangata in the North Island of New Zealand, through the Hole in the Rock at Cape Brett than past the Bay of Islands and Cape Wiwiki, out to the Cavalli Islands, finishing at Whangaroa Harbour. At times we had challenging sea conditions but this trip is a must for any sea kayakers. Magnificent coastal scenery.
