I hesitated making a video for a while...not sure what I should post, or can post. I did want to share and celebrate that we babtized 108 at our church in Florence, and 1,463 in South Carolina!! There's 3.5 million people in South Carolina that do not attend a church regularly....what if we changed that number and invited someone we know? We could change our community, our city, our state, and eventually the world. I've always said Be the change you want to see in the world. Here it is folks. Change is happening right here.

DTB-II_Losing Our Religion_Feature News Reporting
This story aired on the first day of the February 2013 book. Our goal was to examine the number of people, particularly in the south, who switch from traditional to non-traditional churches. I am from Anderson, South Carolina, and the largest non-traditional church in our state started there. NewSpring hopes to have 100,000 people attend its church. So far, it's a third of the way there. I chose to highlight a Baptist church in my comparison. As seen in the piece, the Southern Baptist denomination is the largest denomination of Chrisitanity in the country. However, the church says it is losing members due to the fast pace and high energy atmosphere that NewSpring provides, especially for young people.
I shot, wrote, and edited this story. The B-Roll from inside NewSpring services were provided by the church, but I shot the interview with Perry Noble.
This story won 2nd place (finalist) for the RTDNA of the Carolinas 2013 awards in the category of Hard News Feature.
