Newcastle Trains & Trams, Before & After!
My other Newcastle film HERE
Almost 3 weeks ago I stayed the night in Newcastle with mum to film the opening of the Newcastle Tram line, and the video is out!
The editing of this video took a lot out of me with countless hours constantly researching information to add in the video using captions and voice-over, using Google maps and recording Google street view, colour grading Google street view photos as well as old train footage making it more vibrant, not to mention recording Google earth to get swooping aerial shots to get the right angles to properly show off the historic rail elements of Newcastle,
And of course searching for hours to find historic Newcastle rail photos.
I released this film 12 hours before it became public to a Newcastle Facebook group, most first impressions are that they love it ????????❤
My grandparents lived most their life in Newcastle, my mother and father are from Newcastle, in fact they first met eachother inside the famous now torn down Newcastle Palais Royale on Hunter St right next to the old Trains / now Trams and it has now become the huge KFC on Hunter St.
I've spent many years travelling and staying at this amazing place!
It was sad when they removed the trains, but the city is now in the right direction with the light rail ????????
If you liked this film, don't forget to show some love ❤️ click like and subscribe ????????

Newcastle & The Hunter - A Region Ready by Out of the Square
Newcastle & The Hunter is A Region Ready…for investment, for living and for business. To contribute to this, Out of the Square has produced a self-funded video showcasing some statistics and key attributes of the region, free for all to use.
The project is designed to empower people with a tool to promote the region and their businesses, being free ensures no one is excluded from its use. Whether that is to encourage new skills to the region, seek Government funding, encourage head offices to move here, market properties or simply say how damn proud we are of where we live!
Beyond simply watching and sharing the video, we are also allowing it to be downloaded in full for free or we can quote on a customised version specific to your needs.
Download the video and read more here
Newcastle and The Hunter is already Australia’s largest regional economy, contributing over $47B into the national economy, more than that of the ACT, Northern Territory and Tasmania. Yet we don’t always get our proportionate share in return. So much more is possible by promoting ourselves better, embracing new technology, innovating and collaborating.
We truly are “A Region Ready”. It is our time.

Newcastle Light Rail Tram arrival
On the opening day of the Newcastle Light Rail, 17/2/19 as a tram arrives into Newcastle Interchange at 12pm. It was a wild day with packed crowds in this famous seaside city.
The trams started from 11am to 4pm, but due to the weekend timetabling from Sydney, I arrived for 12pm. If 11am, I would have to wake up earlier and arrive at 10am and waste an hour.

TONA EP12: Newcastle Christmas bus 2017 (2078 ST)
Welcome to the 12th TONA Episode. The 12th TONA episode is about the Newcastle Christmas bus that goes around town on various service routes in December every year and is decorated in Christmas decorations. The Christmas bus operates out of the Hamilton Newcastle Transport bus Depot (Formally known as Newcastle Buses & Ferries)
This year 2078 ST was chosen to be decorated and done up in Christmas Decorations. I must say that a lot of hard work, love, dedication and Christmas spirit has been put into decorating the bus.
The Newcastle Christmas bus was the idea of Margret Pannell who started driving buses 1997. According to what is written on the Official Christmas bus website, at the time she was driving buses around Christmas she was getting a lot of elderly people / passengers who had lost someone close to them or people with no family and wanted to do something to cheer them up. A week before Christmas she decided to put some Christmas carols on a cassette tape and play them on the bus as well as put some tinsel on the Dashboard of the bus.
the next year, Margret later went on to ask Management if she could put more decorations on the bus and use the same bus every day. Management agreed with the decision and so the Newcastle Christmas bus was born. Each year the popularity of the Christmas bus grew. It had been used on Christmas light runs for Camp Quality and the local aged care facilities, it ran free of charge with Margret driving the bus.
The bus takes donations which goes towards the local Mater Hospital's oncology unit.
For information as well as Timetables on the Newcastle Christmas bus, please visit the their website which is linked below.
Please also check out their Facebook page
The bus is itself is a Volvo B12BLE Euro 5 with a Custom Coaches CB60 EVO2 body in Newcastle's corporate V2 Livery. As with all of the Newcastle Transport buses. 2078 ST use to belong to Newcastle Buses & Ferries (STA) but since Keolis Downer have taken over the STA operations here in Newcastle. Any buses that were with STA Newcastle at the time now operate under the Newcastle Transport brand.
Thank you for taking the time to watch this special TONA Episode. Please feel free to check out my Facebook page for news on upcoming episodes and photos of buses and Trains I come across.

Don't Derail Day
On 20 August 2014, against a background of political corruption revelations focussed on the Newcastle region, EcoTransit Sydney took a contingent by rail to Newcastle to get a feel for the madness of the Baird Government's plan to truncate the Newcastle-Sydney line at Wickham and close CBD to CBD intercity services from Christmas Day.
The Sydney contingent was met by Save Our Rail supporters from Newcastle and the Hunter Valley.
Keynote speaker at the Newcastle Station rally was Federal MP for Perth, Alannah MacTiernan, formerly Western Australia's infrastructure Minister, who pushed through construction of the hugely successful Mandurah rail line.
Also speaking were Gavin Gatenby, EcoTransit Sydney Co-Convenor, Jenny Aitchison, ALP candidate for Maitland, and Greens Newcastle City councillor Therese Doyle.
The rally sent out a call for investment to bring intercity rail journey time down below two hours (best time now is an absurd 2 hrs 36 mins).
Please help fund the fight to save Newcastle's rail link. Funds are urgently needed! Go to
75th anniversary of the shelling of Newcastle
On the 30th of May 2017, I spoke of the 75th anniversary of the shelling of Newcastle. While most people know of the Sydney attack, on 8 June 1942, World War II came to the harbour of Newcastle.
St James' Park
St James' Park is an all-seater stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is the home of Premier League club Newcastle United F.C. and has a seating capacity of 52,405.
St James' Park has been the home ground of Newcastle United since 1892 and has been used for football since 1880. Throughout its history, the desire for expansion has caused conflict with local residents and the local council. This has led to proposals to move at least twice in the late 1960s, and a controversial 1995 proposed move to nearby Leazes Park. Reluctance to move has led to the distinctive lop-sided appearance of the present-day stadium's asymmetrical stands.
