Riding in a Rail Car Down the Tracks! - Rail Explorers Rhode Island Division - Portsmouth, RI
If you're looking for a fun, unique experience for all ages - look no further! In Portsmouth, Rhode Island our family was able to ride the rails with the Rail Explorers Rhode Island Division. We boarded custom made rail cars (ours sat 4), buckled in, and began to pedal our way along the coastal railway in Portsmouth. We loved the beautiful views, but the highlight was definitely in the experience. The rail cars were easy to pedal and moved at a fun, quick pace. The kids loved zooming down the railroad track and crossing over a small intersection and a bridge. At the end of a three mile stretch of track, we stopped for a picnic dinner on a patch of green with gorgeous water views. The staff was amazing, from the safety briefing at the beginning to prepare you for the ride, to hosting us at the picnic spot in the middle, and then again helping us load up for the return trip. We were able to watch the crew turn the cars around, and then we pedaled our way back to the starting point. After our 6 mile round trip we were all eager for more, and wishing the ride wasn't over! We can't wait to check out some of their other Rail Explorer locations - each ride takes you through different scenery and is truly unique!

Rhode Island-USA : NEWPORT

Rhode Island
Rhode Island (/ˌroʊd ˈaɪlɨnd/ or /rɵˈdaɪlɨnd/), officially the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, is a state in the New England region of the United States. Rhode Island is the smallest in area, the eighth least populous, but the second most densely populated of the 50 US states behind New Jersey. Rhode Island is bordered by Connecticut to the west and Massachusetts to the north and east, and it shares a water boundary with New York's Long Island to the southwest. It also has the longest official name of all the states.
Rhode Island was the first of the original Thirteen Colonies to declare independence from British rule, declaring itself independent on May 4, 1776, two months before any other colony. The State was also the last of the thirteen original colonies to ratify the United States Constitution.
