Swaziland - Ngwenya Glass
The Ngwenya glass factory in Swaziland is a great place to stop and have a break from the driving. Personally I am not a fan of decorative glass but it certainly is interesting watching the process.
Ps. they do an excellent light lunch and coffee in the restaurant... Also be sure to visit the homemade chocolate shop on the property.

Swazi has the highest AIDS rate in the world at roughly 50% and the region we were in, Nsoko, has a 90% infection rate. Please pray for the health and protection of the hundreds of thousands of orphans in Swaziland.
American designer, Misha Kahn visits Ngwenya Glass
On Thursday 13th October we had the very talented young American designer, Misha Kahn ( with us creating some light fittings that he needs for an exhibition in the USA. Mixing molten glass with broken bottles (which is what our molten glass comes from) to create some interesting textures. Pieces are very heavy, Ben Taylor worked with James Magagula and his team and were pretty tired after the 6 we created. It was a real pleasure working with Misha and hope that we can do more work together.
