Taipei Main Station Ultimate Guide-Taipei, Taiwan

Taipei Main Station can be extremely confusing to anyone including long time residents. I've tried to keep instructions on how to navigate the huge complex simple and if you follow the advice I give, mainly just using the signs above you for directions you shouldn't have too much difficulty getting around. I focused on the Taipei Main Station building where you'll find places to eat, shop, buy train tickets, the Airport MRT, the bus station located at the East Side of the main building, and the other MRT lines. If you are wanting to travel by bus to other parts of Taiwan including the Eastcoast, Central, and Southern Taiwan, then you'll need to go to Q Square where buses serve these regions of the island.
If you want to learn more about the Taipei Metro system and the Taoyuan Airport MRT then watch these videos:

Eat and Explore the beauty of Taipei
For this trip, I was able to spent a few days and New Years Eve in Taipei. It was such a shame that we cannot spend a longer time as there are so much to do, eat and explore outside of Taipei. I have heard lots of recommendation from the locals in Taiwan! Oh well next time then...
Didn't capture any vlog footages as I was travelling with my friends and my husband, so didn't want it to be awkward. At the same time, it was also our own personal vacation, just wanna spend some quality time with my favourite people :)
Also, if you are wondering where I got all the amazing views of the city and Taipei 101, below are my detailed reviews on the hotels which I have stayed at with stunning views:

Farglory chief let off with fine in bribery case
Farglory Chairman Chao Teng-hsiung was sentenced by the Taiwan High Court to a two-year prison sentence suspended for five years for bribing officials to expedite public housing projects in New Taipei City’s Linkou District and Taoyuan’s Bade District. Chao was earlier sentenced by a lower court to four-and-a-half years in prison. But Chao’s guilty plea delivered later led to today’s lighter sentence. If Chao pays NT$200 million in fines, he won’t need to do jail time. Accused of bribery, Chao was sentenced by a lower court to four years and six months imprisonment. The high court today handed him a much lighter sentence. Chao’s deputy, Wei Chun-hsiung, also saw his original sentence of four years imprisonment change to a five-year suspended sentence. This is all because Chao changed his plea during the second high court hearing. Chou Ying-wenTaiwan High Court Judge They both pleaded guilty on the last day of their hearing. In addition, the requirement that Chao pay NT$200 million is another important reason for his suspended jail-free sentence. This form of conditional probation allows Chao and Wei to actively pay compensation.Voice of Jacky YangFarglory Spokesman (Chao Teng-hsiung) deeply thanks everyone for their concern about him. Taipei, Taiwan - 8+3 Awesome Things To See/Do
Need to book a hotel for Taipei or anywhere else? Using this link to book your hotel with Agoda will give you the same price great price and help us out with a small commission:
It's a vibrant city that is rich in culture, history, street food, and religion. Taipei, Taiwan-8+3 Awesome Things To See/Do showcases the best of what the city has to offer. It’s safe, super-friendly, convenient and probably undervalued compared to the super Asian city destinations of Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul. Ironically many residents of those cities choose Taipei as a destination, enjoying some of those qualities that their city once had or simply lacks.
Why the title 8+3 Awesome Sights To See/Do? Well most in Asia would be clued in to the significance of the number 8 and 3. In Chinese,(Mandarin), the word eight sounds similar to the word for prosper or wealth. It’s also similar sounding in Cantonese. The number 8 is an auspicious number.
The number three sounds similar to the character for birth and is also considered a lucky number. There are three stages to a person’s life-birth, marriage, and death.
So my wish is for prosperity and good luck for all those that visit Taipei, Taiwan and for the people of the city that have treated me with such great kindness and hospitality for the past 4 years. Would love to get your feedback on the video and ideas for future content. Also what other countries do you like to visit in Asia?
Thanks again with many blessings to you!

I was so glad to see the Taoyuan International Airport MRT line open earlier this year. This finally brings Taipei in line as far as convenience and access goes, to it’s international airport, with other major cities in East Asia including Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Southeast Asian centers like Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
Like most airport trains across Asia they do not operate 24 hours a day so if your flight arrives outside of the 6am to 23:00 train schedule then you’ll have to use a bus, still fairly convenient or catch a taxi.
At NT$160 for a one way ticket the Taoyuan Airport MRT is the bargain of East Asia for airport rail fares.
As I mentioned in the video Taipei Metro offers a number of unlimited passes ranging from 24 hours to 72 hours. These passes are not valid for the airport MRT. If you’d like an unlimited pass that includes a return trip on the airport MRT then purchase the “Joint Ticket” at the airport MRT counter.
At the airport and at Taipei Main Station you can purchase an Easy Card or iPass which you can load up and use on the airport MRT, Taipei Metro, many bus lines and convenience stores.
This video should cover most of your questions regarding travel between the international airport and Taipei Main Station. For more information visit their website:
Salam Taiwan Travel Vlog: Halal Lunch at West Lake Resortopia

It is clear the leisure farm is another segment that is gaining momentum for tourism in Taiwan. Industry players, especially leisure farm owners, are working hard to lure Muslim travellers to come and enjoy the scenic views of the Island State and its districts.
Realising the potential of the Muslim tourist market, leisure farm owners have taken steps to meet the needs of Muslim travellers and enable them to fulfil their religious obligations by providing lodgings with kiblat signs, prayer mats and toilets with bidets and water hoses.
These are things Muslim travellers are very particular about. Moreover, these leisure farms also provide utensils with halal certification.
Taiwan is more than just an island country. There is more to learn from its cultures and people. Its scenic mountain views also have a charm of their own.
In fact, Muslim travellers can start looking at Taiwan as their next holiday destination

Xiangshan / Elephant Mountain at Night (Taipei, Taiwan)
Xiangshan / 象山, also known as Elephant Mountain, is a mountain in Xinyi District, Taipei (Xiangshan means Elephant Mountain in Chinese with the name coming from its elephant-like shape). It is 183 m / 600 ft high.
Also known as the Nangang District Hiking Trail and Xiangshan / 象山, the hiking trail is located close to the Xinyi Shopping District and Taipei 101.
The best time to hike the mountain is during late afternoon, this way you can catch the sunset as well as a daytime view and stunning nighttime view of the city, however the trail can get relatively crowded during the weekend.
The hike takes a total of around 15-20 minutes to the top, and includes lots of stairs! Remember to take a left at the fork in the path. After around 8-10 minutes, there will be a landing area with facilities and restrooms where the path branches off in multiple directions.
