Никополис ад Нестум е римски град, разположен в Югозападна България. Останките на Никополис са в землището на село Гърмен на 7 километра източно от Гоце Делчев.

Никополис ад Нестум е основан през 106 година на мястото на тракийското селище Александрополис[1] от римския император Траян, в чест на победата му над даките. В превод от латински името му означава „град на победата, разположен при Нестос. Никополис ад Нестум е разположен на пътя, свързващ Егейския бряг с главния военен път Виа Егнация през Родопите, Тракийската низина и Филипополис (днешен Пловдив).

Nicopolis ad Nestum or Nicopolis ad Mestum is a ruined Roman town of the province of Thracia (Thrace) near to the modern village of Garmen on the left bank of the Mesta river, in Bulgaria. Although ad Nestum is the more commonly used alternative, ad Mestum (which is what appears, in Greek, on the coins of the city) is the correct form of the name during the Roman period.

The town was one of two fortified towns founded to mark Emperor Trajan's victory in 105-106 AD over the Dacians.

Nicopolis ad Nestum is the only ancient town preserved in the Rhodopes dating back to the Roman rule in the Balkans. Its name means “City of victory near the Mesta river”. The town was founded in 106 AD on the site of an old Thracian settlement by the Roman emperor Trajan to honor his victory over the Dacians.
