Nida, Lithuania - Exploring the Curonian Spit sand dunes and beach to the Russian border!

Follow me as I explore the colorful village of Nida, Lithuania and above all the majestic sand dunes of the Curonian Spit.
The itinerary I am following is a loop starting and ending in Nida, first going up the dune to the top and the viewpoint. Then, I follow the road to the campground and the immense beach on the Baltic sea.
After walking to the border with Kaliningrad (Russia), I walk back to the sand dunes to explore them more extensively, until reaching the Curoninan Lagoon again. Finally, I just need to follow this shore all the way back to Nida.
It's a nice walk that will show you most landscapes of the Curoninan Spit, easy to do in a day.
I recommend walking up the dune to the view point in the morning, as the light is the most beautiful at this time - The sun is shining on the waters of the Curoninan Lagoon.

Nida is perhaps one of the most unique places to visit in Lithuania where anyone can find a suitable way to have rest and fun. Nida is surrounded by the waters of the Baltic sea and the Curonian Lagoon, its breathtaking landscape, pure air and calm atmosphere make an indelible impression.
The most interesting places to visit are Parnidis dune, the lighthouse on the Urbas hill, the historical museum of Thom Mann, an original ethnographical fisherman homestead. There are many types of entertainments in Nida: riding a bicycle, hiking, fishing, water tourism.
Nida is a popular destination amongst the nature lovers.

A small city once inhabited by fishermen, it is famous for its granite sundial and fantastic sand dunes. Walking along a short stretch of forest you arrive to the beaches of the Baltic Sea in whose waters you can see many harmless jellyfish scientifically known as Aurelia Aurita.
