Latvia is part of the European Union, but over 500,000 Latvians who are ethnically Russian we're basically stranded in Latvia when the U.S.S.R. fell apart. They are now considered aliens and do not have full EU citizenship as the Ethnic Latvians do! Riga is an awesome city with fun parties and AWESOME people!

Let's stir up Riga together at the release party for a new [Ex] da Bass & Ian Brearley single Riga Nights with several world famous djs all in one place on the 17th of April at the club ESSENTIAL!
The single, released under the wing of the German label Midway Records on February 13th is excellent confirmation that world class dance music is being made here in Latvia. It is produced by [Ex] da Bass, Lotars Lodzins and Janis Kalve. Since its release it has drawn the notice of dance music lovers in the Baltics and worldwide. In the Baltics Riga Nights tops the charts of both radio stations and music TV channels: for example Power Hit Radio in Estonia and Lithuania, MTV World Chart Express, as well as Latvian Music channel. The video climbed to the top of the ladder for six weeks, matching the record set by Brainstorm. Outside the Baltic states, both the single and the video are actively played on multiple radio and TV stations in Germany, Canada, Greece, Slovenia, Cyprus, Turkey, Romania, Hungary and the former Yugoslavia. Riga Nights is also played by many of the club culture's best known djs, prompting the single to be released on both Cd and vinyl.
All authors of the included single remixes have confirmed their participation in the upcoming event, making up the musical core of the main dance floor. Featuring [Ex] da Bass, the world famous electro house DJ and producer TOMCRAFT (Germany), who has won the world over with such hits as Silence, Prosac, Overdose and Loneliness (have to mention that it is Tomcrafts first appearance in Latvia so he is making special preparations), MARC VAN LINDEN (Germany) whose solo singles Am 2 Pm and Lh 3293 have been included in sets by artists like Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk un John Askew, the most recognizable duo of the house music RULERS OF THE DEEP and DJ WHIRL from Estonia, as well as our very own, very successful producer ROBERT L-MAYER.
The visual enhancement, made specifically for the event will be in the hands of vjs Pe Joke and Kosmoss, both from ILLEGAL DJ TEAM RIGA.
