Nagoya, Matsusaka, Nagashima 20-22 Dec 2018.
Transfered back from Gero to Nagoya. Visited Oasis Twenty One. Following day went Matsusaka, visited Matsusaka Castle ruin which only the walls remain and sample the famous Matsusaka beef for lunch. Worth to mention that A5 grade Matsusaka beef is equally if not better than Kobe at a very much cheaper price similarly to Hida beef. Japan really have many quality wahyu beef and Kobe is just one of them that is more popular hence the hefty price. From Matsusaka we then went to Nagashima to view Nabana no sato which is a display of light and night illumination of a park. Very nice night view. Last day at Nagoya is just shopping and get ready to head home after this 10 days trip.
FINEST All You Can Eat WAGYU BEEF in Tokyo Japan: Matsusaka Beef
Rokkasen is another great All You Can Eat Wagyu place, but it's a bit more on the expensive side because they serve Matsusaka Beef and many people consider it to be better than Kobe! Matsusaka Beef has a high fat-to-meat ratio, which makes the marbling on the beef look beautiful.

Cursed Japanese Kleenex Commercial
You might say that this Kleenex commercial that aired on Japanese television in 1986 is legendary - as in urban legend. It's certainly one of the creepiest TV ads ever made, which is the main reason it went off the air only shortly after it first appeared: Japanese viewers kept calling TV stations that aired it to complain about how creepy it was.
What makes it creepy? Well, there's that ogre child (or baby Satan, as some call it). There's the woman who's wearing a flowing white gown and behaving a little ... strangely. There's the weird song being sung over the commercial, which kind of sounds like something you might expect to hear in a horror movie.
What were they thinking? Who knows, but Kleenex quickly pulled the ad.
So what makes this Japanese Kleenex commercial the stuff of urban legends? According to Atlas Obscura, these are a few of the urban legends that sprung up about this supposedly cursed commercial:
--Everyone who worked on the commercial (the crew) eventually died in mysterious ways.
--The child actor who plays the ogre baby died right after filming.
--The song, which is sung in English and is called It's a Fine Day, was said by some to be a secret German curse.
--When the TV ad aired late at night, some claimed, the voice singing the song changed to that of a creepy old lady.
--And several urban legends surround the actress featured in the commercial, whose name is Keiko Matsuzaka. Those include that she died after filming, that she went insane, and that she gave birth to a devil child.
None of those things is true. But this Japanese Kleenex ad is still mighty creepy.
Traveleats - Japan Shinjuku
Over out food search in Tokyo we concluded that the best food can be found in the special ward, Shinjuku. With its bright neon light, night life and tall buildings, this is the place where all the tastiest foods can be found. The main highlight of our visit in Shinjuku was Omoide Yokocho(Memory Lane), filled with narrow alleys of tiny restaurants that serve izakaya food. Freshly grilled yakitori with an ice-cold glass of beer, a match made in heaven. On a side note, if you are thinking whether it is worth it to pay almost S$100 to watch the Robot Restaurant show in Tokyo, yes it definitely is! Its a unique and entertaining experience that you cannot find anywhere else.
All You Can Eat A5 WAGYU BEEF in Tokyo Japan!
The first time I went to Japan, I got to experience the A5 Kobe steak, and that flavor still sings with me. I knew that it probably wouldn't be possible to find a Kobe all you can eat restaurant in Tokyo, because, with me, they would be out of business in a day. However, I did find an A5 All you can eat Wagyu beef restaurant, can't beat that(:

JAPAN: TOKYO: NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS
Japanese/Nat
Japan has ushered in the new year.
Huge crowds gathered in Tokyo to celebrate the most important event on the Japanese calendar.
There are hopes that 1999, the Year of the Rabbit, will bring more happiness than the turmoil experienced by many in 1998.
Although life here is becoming increasingly westernised, on this night, Japanese people still return to tradition.
This is how they celebrate the start of a new year.
In central Tokyo, tens of thousands thronged to the Zojoji temple just before midnight.
Here they waited for a Buddhist monk to strike the temple bell 108 times to dispel the evils of the past year and usher in good luck for the new year.
As the clock struck midnight, the crowd screamed joyfully and looked up at the thousands of balloons ornamenting the dark sky to welcome the 1999, the Year of Rabbit.
The Buddhist faith believes human beings have 108 earthly desires, and with each bell ring, a worldly passion perishes.
This year there was a special guest in attendance.
Baseball rookie Daisuke Matsuzaka, of the Seibu Lions, was on hand for the bell-ringing ceremony.
Traditionally, Japanese gather here on New Year's Eve to purge their sins of the past year and enter the new one with a clean slate.
And as the clock slipped safely from 1998 into 1999, people walked to the main temple building to pray in front of the Buddha statue.
They threw money as they said prayers and made new year's resolutions.
Following a difficult year of economic turmoil with still no real light at the end of the tunnel, their prayers seemed to have more resonance.
SOUNDBITE: (Japanese)
I am wishing that this new year will bring better luck to my business. Last year has been an extremely tough year.

SOUNDBITE: (Japanese)
The economy last year has been severely hit. I wish the new year will be more cheerful year.
SUPER CAPTION: Vox pop, woman
Although there's festive air here, anxiety and concerns for the future remain in the minds of a people used to a well-structured and wealthy nation.
No one really knows what to expect in 1999.

David Califa:
Sri Panwa:
I was invited by my great food friend David ( with Sir Panwa hotel in Phuket to come for one of the greatest food pop-ups ever in Thailand. The first night we had sushi by Master Chef Hiroyuki Sato, and it was by far the most amazing sushi meal omakase experience I’ve ever had. The next night was Kobe beef night, and along with a selection of the best wagyu cuts, the highlight of the night was a giant hunk of Kobe Beef A5, the top of the best.
But before the Kobe beef evening started, we first spent some time during the day at Sri Panwa. I took a few swims, had breakfast, and then for lunch we went into Phuket town with David and the chefs, and at the legendary Raya Restaurant. The food is quite good, and you’ll find Phuket style southern Thai food there.
Wagyu Mafia - Wagyu Mafia were the stars of the event. And they are originally Kobe beef dealers, so they know the best cuts of beef and the best farmers. Now they have a members restaurants in Tokyo as well, but still deal in the best wagyu beef. They brought a selection of wagyu beef from Japan including a $3000 (that’s the wholesale price, probably lots more at a restaurant), Kobe beef A5 (which is the best of the best) ribeye. It was one of the most insanely delicious things I’ve ever tasted in my life.
Here’s our entire menu of courses that we at at the Wagyu Mafia event at Sri Panwa:
Homemade beef jerky (Ozaki Beef A5 BMS8)
Kotecchan satay stick grill
Ozaki beef krapao (A5 BMS8)
Ozaki beef tendon tom yum (A5 BMS8)
Ozaki beef nigiri sushi
Tako yaki with wagyu
Wagyu grill
Kobe beef ribeye (Kobe Beef A5 BMS11)
Hakata style ramen
Mango rice cake
Wagyu tom yum
It was truly a beef meal that will create a lifetime memory!
Thank you to Wagyu Mafia, David, Khun Wan, and everyone from Sri Panwa hotel for organizing this event and for inviting me to attend.
DISCLOSURE: I was not paid to make this video. But I was invited to attend this event at Sri Panwa, and I did not pay for my stay or for the meal.

Japan Travel: Dotonbori neon lights famous huge signs of crab & Glico, Osaka013 Moopon
Dotonbori is one of Osaka's most popular tourist destinations. This street runs parallel to the Dotonbori canal. It is a popular shopping and entertainment area and is also known for its local foods. At night it is illuminated by hundreds of neon lights and mechanical signs, such as the famous Glico Running Man sign and Kani Doraku crab sign.
It might be best seen at night, as Dotonbori never truly closes with some restaurants open 24 hours.

FIRE RAMEN & GYOZA in Kyoto Japan
I ate some amazing pork and red pepper gyoza in Kyoto. The wrappers were thin, and fried to perfection, leaving a nice crispy texture. I definitely recommend getting those two dishes.
The next night I went to a fire ramen place which was pretty fun and super HOT!! It's not the spicy hot feeling like the hot oil that leaves a burning sensation on your tongue, but they use real fire to cook the ramen. So the heat on that ramen was flaming hot! Afterward, I went to grab some matcha dessert at one of the best places that Kyoto has to offer.
