The Nihondaira Ropeway (日本平ロープウェイ Nihondaira Rōpuwei) is Japanese aerial lift line in the city of Shizuoka in Shizuoka Prefecture, operated by Shizuoka Railway (Shizutetsu). Opened in 1967, the line climbs Nihondaira (日本平), a hill with views of the city, Suruga Bay, and Mount Fuji.

NIHONDAIRA AND TOSHOGU SHRINE - Shizuoka, Japan
This place came up as a recommended spot from our AirBnb host as being one of the top few places that actually has great views of Mt Fuji.
After doing a little more of our own research, we found out to our amazement that this is rated within the top 5 spots in Shizuoka to have a great view of the Shizuoka Plains alongside with Mt Fuji.
We were blessed with absolutely great views despite the strongest of winds and got to see Mt Fuji in of its splendour.
I have to admit, I'm easily satisfied by the view of Mt Fuji but later realising that the nearby temple is host to the final resting place of a revered character during the Samurai Period, I had to drop by and pay my respects.
I've always been a big fan of all games relating to Samurai. This was brought and highlighted to me when my former partner bought me the game Shogun 2 for PC and since then, it's been the game I frequently play when I'm in my downtime.
I am glad to pay my respects to this inspirational figure.
