Nijino-Matsubara means pinewoods of rainbow.
The 5km-long-pinewoods, one of the three-largest-pinewoods in Japan, was planted as a windbreak in the beginning of 17th century.
Nijino-Matsubara part begins from around 9:00 in the movie.

Karatsu City in Saga - How to get there from Fukuoka
Karatsu (唐津) is a coastal city in Saga Prefecture on Kyushu, about 50 kilometers west of Fukuoka. In the past, Karatsu was a major stop for ships making the journey towards Korea and China because it is one of the closest Japanese cities to the Korean Peninsula.
Today the city is known for its castle, the annual Karatsu Kunchi festival (November 2-4) and its local pottery. Several more attractions are found on the nearby rural Higashi Matsuura Peninsula, including beautiful coastal scenery and the ruins of a huge castle. Leave a comment, like and subscribe.

虹の松原 ・佐賀県・九州 Nijinomatsubara, Kyushu JAPAN
Nijinomatsubara 虹の松原 is a 360 year old pine forest in Karatsu, Saga. It has a width of 400 - 700 metres, a length of about 5 km. It was also referred as The Black Pine Forest of 1 Million Trees (100万本のクロマツを中心とした松林 ), however this name is uncommon today.
The forest was originally planted by the feudal lord Terasawa as a counter-measure against the strong winds and tides in Karatsu Bay. Today it is a popular tourist spot, and on a list of the 100 most beautiful places in Japan.
This forest is easily accessible from both Karatsu City and Fukuoka City.

Japan: Riding on the JR Train from Karatsu to Fukuoka 福岡、唐津、二丈
On the way home for my English ALT (Assistant Language Teaching) job I decided to break out my point and shoot camera and get a little video. This is the Karatsu to Fukuoka, Japan Railroad Chikuhi-sen (Chikuhi line). It was a little overcast but you can get the general idea.
Next time it's sunny I will re-shoot the video :-)

It is also selected as “Japan’s 100 Best Beaches with White Sand and Blue Pine”. The sight of a white sand beach and a blue pine forest backed by the majestic Mt. Fuji is a true Japanese landscape. “Miho no Matsubara” was also registered as a component heritage of Mount Fuji, which is a World Heritage Site.
