Chiefs Enjoy a Day at Nimitz Park with the Japanese Self Defense Forces
The chief petty officers in Sasebo work closely with their Japanese Self Defense Force counterparts to train them in the ways of leadership and the importance of senior-enlisted personnel. Seaman Greg House went to Nimitz Park to see how the chiefs are teaching the Japanese to play as hard as they work.

American Festival Day 1 Sasebo Japan
Saturday Aug 25th 2018 was the first day of the Saiki American Festival here in Sasebo Japan which was held in nimitz park right outside of Base and Main Base Housing. Half of the festival was the American side with different American Bands, American style food as well as games for the kids to play. The second Half of the festival on the other side of the gate was the Japanese style festival where they had Japanese bands as well as amazing Japanese food and snacks. They also had games for the kids to play as well. It was a really fun festival and this was the last festival of the summer.

Sakura park Sasebo Japan part 2

First real snow in Sasebo Japan.
This is in Minenosaka Cho, were I'll be living with my husband and 4 children for the next 2 years. We love it here! This was a few days ago this January. It didn't snow in December here, and the snow this year is not sticking at all, compared to WA state were we came from....big change! I can enjoy the snow with my kids at Nimitz Park and then drive up the mountain with no issues!

While serving on USS Belleau Wood LHA-3, this video journal shows liberty in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Protest, ST. Johns Cathedral, Hard-Rock Cafe and the Saikai American Festival - Sasebo Japan. Nimitz park is where the festival was located.
