Sandy beaches in front of the camp offer perfect conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The main precondition is that there is enough wind. Here is the information you can find about Nin on Wikipedia:
Nin's historical center is located on an islet only 500 meters in diameter. Nin is situated in a lagoon on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea, surrounded by natural sandy beaches and linked with the mainland by two stone bridges from the 16th century. According to historians the area of Nin appears to have been settled 10,000 years ago. The present-day town on the islet developed 3,000 years ago and is one of the older towns on the eastern Adriatic. The area of Nin was first colonized by immemorial people of the Mediterranean.
Since the 9th century B.C. the civilization of the Illyrian tribe of Liburnians[2] was present before the Romans came, who had a strong sea and trade center called Aenona (this morphed in the Middle Ages into Nona). The rich archeological finds prove strong sea links with Greece and the Hellenistic world: recent explorations revealed a rarity, a very well preserved Byzantine mosaic on the floor of a Roman villa.
The Croats colonized Nin at the beginning of the 7th century. The first Croatian state community was formed at the end of the 8th and beginning of the 9th century. Nin was the first Croatian royal town,[citation needed] with its period of glory being from the 7th to the 13th centuries. In the 9th century Nin became the seat of the first Croatian bishop. Bishops from Nin played a great role in the country's religious, a cultural and a political sense. Significant rulers connected with the history of Nin include Prince Višeslav, Prince Branimir, King Tomislav, King Petar Krešimir IV, King Zvonimir.
At the time of the Turkish wars, Nin found itself on the battle-field. After the selling of Dalmatia to Venice (1409), the city came under the control of the Republic of Venice. The town was economically exploited but not protected militarily.[citation needed] The town was destroyed twice.
The first destruction was in 1571 and the second on 28 April 1646. The Venice government gave an order to burn the town and destroy it systematically.[citation needed] According to historians[which?], the Venice government sacrificed Nin and left the burnt town to the Turks to save the town of Zadar. Monument, churches, and the king's and bishop's palaces in Nin were destroyed and have never been replaced.[citation needed]
The economic development of Nin began after World War II. Since 1969, Nin has been developing as a tourist destination. Nin today is a historical and tourist town which looks for its development in the valorization of its historical heritage. In recent years, many monuments have been restored. Because of the importance of Nin in the history of Croatia, tourists visit from Croatia and elsewhere in Europe. They come especially to visit two symbols of the old town: the church of Holy Cross from the 9th century, called “the smallest cathedral in the world”, and the coronation church.
After 1980 near Nin a high power medium wave broadcasting station was built?

Želite li probati šokol – jedinstven ninski specijalitet i vidjeti kako se on pripravlja?!
Dobar tek!

Would you like to try „šokol“, the unique speciality of Nin, and see how it is prepared? Although it can be found in nearly all restaurants in this area, to be present at Nin’s Šokol Festival means far more. Namely, from 2003 this unique competition has been held which attracts a large number of „šokol“ experts in July, but also many locals and visitors who enjoy the event, the smells and tastes. However, the whole story actually starts at the very beginning of the year when the meat for the preparation is distributed to the registered competitors, and ends in July when the best „šokol“ makers are chosen.
In fact, „šokol“ – for whose preparation quality pork meat, Nin’s salt, spices and Nin’s aromatic „bura“ (north easterly wind) are needed - is a dried meat product of a recognisable taste. The neck of pork is first kept in sea salt for a few days, then it is submerged into boiled red wine and then seasoned with different spices. The rest of the process is left to the natural effect of smoke and „bura“ plus the secrecy of the recipes which are guaranteed by passing them down to the next generation by word of mouth, without any written traces. Therefore winning the Nin Šokol Festival is a matter of prestige, and the festival itself is very interesting for tourists, as well as being tasty! Enjoy it!

Guten Appetit!

Eric Clarks Travel Videos - Nin Croatia - Smallest Cathedral in the world. Amazing little church!!!
From
The Church of the Holy Cross called „the smallest cathedral in the world“ is the most valuable preserved monument of early Croatian religious architecture and one of Nin's symbols. By its position and beauty it dominates the area where it stands. It was built in the 9th century, in the Early Christian period. It is the only religious object in Nin which has remained untouched since its construction to date. It is 7.80 m long, 7.60 m wide, and 8.20 metres in height (inside measures) and the walls are 57cms thick. It was built on the remains of ancient houses which are visible even today. During the reign of Croatian Kings it served as a Court chapel for the nearby Duke's Court. A number of medieval graves were discovered around the church.
This small church, thanks to the position of its windows and the angle of the fall of light is a kind of calendar, and according to the sun 's rays, the exact date of the equinox and solstice can be determined, which on the first day of summer is the start of an interesting event called „The Festival of Sun and Light“.
Spellbound by its beauty, the famous English architect Thomas Jackson, called it „the smallest cathedral in the world“.
From Wikipedia
Church of the Holy Cross (Croatian: Crkva svetog Križa) is a Croatian Pre-Romanesque Catholic church originating from the 9th century in Nin.[1]
According to a theory from an art historian Mladen Pejaković,[2] the design has an intentionally unbalanced elliptical form designated to follow the position of the Sun, retaining the functionality of a calendar and sundial.[2] In its beginning, in the time of the Croatian principality, it was used as a royal chapel of the duke's courtyard nearby.[2]
The church is that of a central type, it features the Croatian interlace (or simply troplet) and a carved name of the Croatian župan Godečaj.[2][3]
The church is known under the moniker of the smallest cathedral in the world,[1][4][5] but it does not actually contain the seat of a bishop of Nin today.

Ивлеева VS Бедняков (Heads and Tails.
