Sapporo to Niseko Bus: How to Get to Niseko
Where is Niseko?
Niseko is located in Hokkaido Japan, the powder capital of the world! There is a town called Niseko but the term “Niseko” is often used to refer to “Niseko United”, the four interconnected ski areas that have villages of corresponding names at their base: An’nupuri; Niseko Village (formerly Higashiyama); Hirafu; and Hanazono.
Niseko Resort is about 100 km southwest of Sapporo city and Sapporo New-Chitose airport, about a 2.5 hour drive away.
Hirafu is the largest of the Niseko villages, located about 8km from the town of Kutchan. Hanazono is about 9km from Kutchan. The town of Niseko is closer to Higashiyama (Niseko Village) and Annupuri, about 7-8km away from both ski villages. You can look at our Niseko map to get a feel for the location of the different villages.
Trains from Honshu to Niseko
A tunnel runs between Honshu (the main island of Japan) and Hokkaido, and trains between Shin-Aomori (at the northern tip of Honshu) and Kutchan take as little as 4.5 hours as the first part of the trip is a bullet train. It’s about 3 hours from Tokyo to Shin-Aomori by bullet train. See Hyperdia for train timetables and fares.

Getting Around Niseko - Niseko Travel Guide
There are basically three options for getting around Niseko: shuttle bus, taxi and rental car.
If you're staying in Hirafu pretty much everything you need is within walking distance, but there are also free village shuttle buses. If you would like groceries or to head out of town at night, you might want to take a taxi. And if you're thinking ultra-mobility think about hiring a car.
1) RENTAL CAR
Renting a car is a great way to explore Niseko and surrounding areas. You just have to be ready to negotiate the snowy, icy roads.
Most importantly, you must have an international drivers permit in order to be able to rent a vehicle. There are several operators in Hirafu that provide this service.
2) SHUTTLE BUS
Shuttle buses connect the resorts and different areas of Niseko, including nearby Kutchan Town.
Some are free but most are included with in the cost of lift passes.
3) TAXI
Taxis are readily available, particularly in Hirafu and Niseko Village, and can be hailed on major streets.
Taxis cost around JPY Y2,500 for a 10-minute trip.
Drivers probably won't speak English and you'll need a business or place name and a map for where you are going.
Stay just one night in a villa and you'll never stay in a hotel again

Located in a sleepy village called Higashiyama, it's not to be confused with Niseko Town.

Cheese Tarte ???? | Niseko Milk Kobo | ニセコミルク工房 | Japan Travel Vlog 41
Konnichi wa mina-san TOTTI desu!!! ????
MATANE!!! ????
~English Subtitles are coming soon ~
One of the best addresses for dairy products on Hokkaido should be Milk Kobo. However, this place in Niseko is only a little hard to reach by bus and train. Nevertheless, I made my way to nowhere to try some delicious sweets. Unfortunately, I missed the bus at the JR station, so I made my way on foot. After about 40 minutes I finally reached the paradise. Especially the awesome creamy cheese tart was definitely worth the trip!
Would you drive for 2 hours and then take a 40-minute walk to try just a few sweets? ????
In the evening, it was then time for me to say goodbye to Japan. At the end of the video you will find a short summary of this journey. But as you know, we will see each other again soon in Japan!
If you have ideas or wishes, where I should travel in Japan, then let me know in the comments or on Instagram!
THANK YOU for joining me! ????

Japan Winter Travel Niseko
Located within the northern Hokkaido region, the mountain region of Niseko is considered one of the world’s top 10 ski resorts. While beautiful in summer, it is in winter when the mountains
turn into a playground for snow lovers both local and international, especially Australians.
Comprised of six ski areas, you’ll have what feels like endless options, especially if using a Niseko All Mountain Pass, giving you up to 8 hours of skiing a day. In addition to kilometers of ski trails, most resorts offer winter activities such as trail skiing, helicopter tours of Mt. Yotei, the volcano seen from the slopes Niseko, day-trips to the hot springs and buses into the local towns.
