Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge Cruise, Northern Territory | Video Review - The Big Bus
Welcome to The Big Bus tour and travel guide's YouTube channel.
In this video, we head to Nitmiluk National Park in the Northern Territory to join Nitmiluk Tours on their famous Nitmiluk Gorge cruise.
Once known as Katherine Gorge, Nitmiluk Gorge is actually a series of twelve gorges. We visit gorges one and two on our cruise, with a short 400-metre walk in between. Along the way, we learn about the significance of the gorge to the traditional owners — the Jawoyn people — from our local guide.
This is without doubt one of the most spectacular pieces of Australian wilderness. Enjoy!

WA.NT Trip Part 6 | Katherine Tours | Nitmiluk National Park
We return to Katherine in the heart of the Northern Territory to check out the Cutta Cutta Caves and Nitmiluk National Park.
A guided walk of the Cutta Cutta Caves was a unique experience, its amazing that during the wet season the whole cave fills with water.
Katherine Gorge Cruises are a fantastic way to see the gorge, our tour guide was very informative and entertaining, with a keen eye for spotting wildlife to point out to us.
If your touring through the Northern Territory these are both a must see, you don't even need a 4wd to get there!

A stop off at Katherine gorge during our Ghan train trip from Alice Springs to Darwin.
Nitmiluk Tours took us down two gorges with a little walk between the two. The second gorge was my favourite but they were both amazing. Film location for the creature feature Rogue where a huge crocodile terrorizes people in the gorge.

Katherine Gorge Cruise - Nitmiluk Nationalpark, NT, Australia
About 30 km east of Katherine, a town in Northern Territory in Australia, extends the Nitmiluk Nationalpark. It is watered by the Katherine River which emerges from the highlands of Arnhem Land. Katherine River breaches through massive rocks in an amazing zig-zag-line. Have a look at this map to get an impression:
The video shows the non stop downstream drive of the Second and the First Gorge. Shot with a GoPro Hero 2 largely in double and quadruple speed.
Some features along the rocks are named, especially trailheads of some of the Southern Walks in Nitmiluk Nationalpark.
DAY TRIP TO KATHERINE GORGE - NT, AUSTRALIA
I think... the best reward of travelling with my sister is to be able to experience everyday things as if for our first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted. #SiblingsBonding #RoadTrip

DAY 57 - KATHERINE GORGE CANOEING & EDITH FALLS | Road Trip Australia Travel VLOG
Day 57 - 28th October 2017
We rented a campervan in Cairns and set off on a 2 and a half month road trip around Australia. It’s a heck of a long way (20,000 km!!) but these videos will show what we got up to on the road!
This was the first time i've ever been in a canoe. Safe to say it's hard work but completely worth it through the gorge! We also stopped at Edith Falls for a cool off before definitively deciding who the best campervan chef really is...

This video is about the cruise tour we took at Katherine Gorge in the Katherine National Park, NT. Sorry for the sound quality as the noise of the boat is too loud. I was too busy with taking photos and so I let my friend who was still new to camcorders take the video...
2-day canoeing trip on the Katherine Gorge - NT, Australia
During a 2-day canoeing trip, we explored the Katherine Gorge in the Northern Territory of Australia. It was an amazing and incredible adventure!
Canoeing
Kelly wanted to sit in the back of the canoe, otherwise, she was afraid that I wouldn't do anything. Well, that feeling came from a previous day trip in the Netherlands. We made a canoe trip at the Kinderdijk and I literally didn't do anything. I was just enjoying the sun and my motor (Kelly).
I did it better this time and really paddled a lot. Ok, Kelly might still have done a little bit more than me, but really, just a little bit! Besides the paddling part, I really did a good job in passing the gorges!
The Katherine Gorge
The Katherine Gorge actually consists of 13 gorges. The first 9 are accessible by canoe, but you have to cross some rocks and waterfalls between each gorge. This really is a challenge, but that makes this trip really awesome!
The first day we came all the way to the 7th gorge. There is a little campsite situated in the 6th gorge.
Camping
Don't expect too much from this campsite, as there isn't much. You have to bring your own camping equipment and food. There isn't a shower, but he, the Gorge is in front of you! Go for a swim and you might even feel cleaner than after a shower. You can drink the water from the Gorge without even filtering it, so clear and clean!
We were very lucky to have the campsite to ourselves and we enjoyed the beautiful night sky. Being in the middle of nowhere, without any artificial light, we were even able to see the milky way! Wauw!
We really enjoyed canoeing, and although it was quite tough every now and then, we felt refilled with energy after this trip!

Tim Smith TV presenter of Discover Downunder is up early to join the Nitmuluk Tour Breakfast Cruise which runs through two gorges. Tim talks to tour guide Tyrus Wunungmurra about the gorge and recommends for him to see the area from helicopter to get a true picture of how beautiful this place really is.
