I like to scale-up the challenge of Yom Kipur fast with a certain trek in nature every time.
We started at the Big Dune of south Ashdod, walked through Nitzanim Sand Reserve, Nitzanim Beach, and finished in north Ashkelon (about 18 km).

יום שני - 16.03.09 - שידור מיוחד מחוף ניצנים. גובה הגלים כ-70 סמ ורוח דר מע' 10 קשרים + טקס רשמי, חולות ניצנים,
שמורת טבע לאומית בפיקוח הראשות הלאומית לטבע וגנים. וקטעי נופים מהאגמים הסובבים.
Monday - 16.03.09 - Special broadcast from Nitznim Beach and Park
(situated Between Ashdod and Ashqelon) - Waves are 3 ft. and 10 knts
SW winds. + oficial ceremony was held today, Nitznim sands are a
national reservation area.

Marine nature reserves – the Evtah sea reserve

The Evtah Sea Marine Reserve is an underwater dune park which serves as a protected haven between Ashdod and Ashkelon. The diversity and quantity of marine creatures living here isn't represented in any other reserve in Israel. Help us stop the damage caused by fishing and marine infrastructures and to establish it as a reserve!
