Bhagwan Nityanand Samadhi Mandir, Ganeshpuri
Ganeshpuri is about 80 kms. by road from Mumbai & 30 kms. from the local railway station Vasai road or Virar. River Tanasa flows near by. Bhagwan Nityanand chose this ancient centre of great spiritual energy to stay & revive its immortal glory. Bhagwan Nityanand came in 1937 and stayed near the hot waterspring of Bhimeshwar Mahadev temple. This is the place where His Samadhi temple is now built.. He took Mahasamadhi in another building close by named Banglorewala building. Worship is held daily in both buildings which are maintained by the Sanstha. The Vajreshwari hot Water springs located in the Bhivandi taluka of district Thane in Maharashtra State, India. Vajreshwari is known for its hot water springs and the temple of Goddess Vajreshwari, also the ashrams of Swami Muktananda and Swami Nityanand.
There are around 21 hot water springs, in a five-kilometer radius of the Vajreshwari temple. As per the legends, the hot water flowing through these springs is nothing but the blood of the demons slain by the goddess Vajreshwari herself. A hot spring is a spring that is produced by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater from the Earth’s crust. There are hot springs all over the crust of the earth.
Vajreshwari Hot Water Springs
The hot springs stretching about 7-km in the bed of the river Tansa are mainly situated at Akoli, Vajreshwari, Ganeshpuri, and Satvalli. The temperature of the water in the springs ranges from 43°C. to 49°C.
At the hot springs in Vajreshwari, one can enjoy a hot spring bath in an exclusive and closed bath called `Kothawalla Bath’. The hot water springs are a must bathe for Vajreshwari Devi devotees. The springs have high sulfur content and are believed to cure many skin ailments.

Vajreshwari Devi Mandir, Nityanand maharaja mandir, Thane Maharashtra. ......
MV VERMA
The town of Vajreshwari, on banks of the river Tansa, lies in Bhiwandi city, Thane district, Maharashtra, India It is 31 km away from the nearest railway station of Virar. The temple is located near the post office of Vajreshwari town, on the Mandagiri hillock, which was formed out of a volcanic eruption and is surrounded by hills on all sides.
The Puranas mention the region of Vadvali as a place visited by Rama and Parashurama, avatars of the god Vishnu. The legend says that Parashurama performed a yajna (fire offering) at Vadvali and the hills of volcanic ash in the area are its residue.
The primary deity of the temple, Vajreshwari (vajreśvari), also spelled Vajreshvari, also known as Vajrábái and Vajrayogini, is considered an incarnation of the goddess Parvati or Aadi-Maya on earth. Her name literally means the lady of the Vajra (thunderbolt). There are two legends about the goddess' origins, both associated with the Vajra.
Thousands of years ago, a Rakshasa (demon) named Kalikala or Kalikut or Kali( the demon) troubled the rishis (sages) and humans in the region of Vadvali and waged a war against the devas (gods). Distressed, the gods and sages headed by Vashishta performed the TriChandi yagna, a fire offering to the Goddess, to please Her. An aahuti (offering of ghee in yajna) was not granted to Indra (king of devas). Enraged, Indra hurled his Vajra - one of the most powerful weapons in Hindu mythology- at the yajna. The terrified gods and sages prayed to the Goddess to save them. The Goddess appeared in all her glory at the site and not only swallowed the Vajra and humbled Indra but also killed the demons. Rama requested that the Goddess stay in the region of Vadvali and be known as Vajreshwari. Thus, the Vajreshwari temple was established in this region.
Another legend says that Indra and other devas went to goddess Parvati and requested her to help slay demon Kalikala. Goddess Parvati assured them that she would come to their aid at the right time, and ordered them to fight with the demon. In the battle, Kalikala swallowed or broke all weapons thrown at him. Finally, Indra threw the Vajra at the demon, which Kalikala broke into pieces. From the Vajra emerged the Goddess, who destroyed the demon. The devas extolled her as Vajreshwari and built her temple.
The seventh canto of Navanath Kathasar states that Machindranath served the goddess Vajrabhagawati (Vajreshwari) for a month by giving her a bath of the water of hot springs.
This place is also called Nath Bhoomi, a land of Nathas.
Details about Nityananda's birth are relatively unknown. According to his disciples, Nityananda was found as an abandoned infant in Tuneri village, Kozhikode, Kerala, India by a lady named Uniamma Nair, who was married to Chathu Nair. The Nair couple adopted this child and took care of him along with their own five children. Nityananda was named as Raman by his foster parents. The Nair couple were farmers, who also took care of the farms owned by a wealthy lawyer named Ishwar Iyer, who greatly trusted them.[2] Nityananda's foster father died when he was three and his foster mother when he was six. Before dying she handed over her responsibility of Nityananda to Ishwar Iyer.[
