Ashram house Nityananda Guruvan Bekal Kanhangad kasargode
Guruvan is the place where Nityananda was found as an infant by a Harijan woman. It is said the he lived in this place for many years.
Swami Nithyanand Ashram, Kanhangad...KERALA
Om Namo Nithyanandaya...Om Namo Bhagavathe Nithyanandaya Swami Nithyanand Ashram, another spiritual centre at Hosdurg, Kanhangad was built by Swami Nithyananda. A life-size statue of the sitting Swami, made of panchaloha, is one of the attractions of the ashram. There is also a huge picture of Swami Nityananada and from whichever angle you look at the picture, you will feel that the picture is looking back at you. At the base of the ashram, there is an interesting network of caves and narrow enclosures. Swami Nityananda gained a reputation for creating miracles and wonderful cures. He started building an ashram near Kanhangad, Kerala state. The local police thought he must be producing counterfeit money to pay for the building, so Swami took them to a crocodile-infested pool in the jungle. He dived in and then produced handfuls of money, which was apparently enough to satisfy the police. The beautiful hill temple and Ashram in Kanhangad are now pilgrim centres. The Guru Van, a forest in the hills nearby where Bhagawan sat on penance, is now a pilgrim retreat.
Guruvanam and Surroundings - Bhagawan Nityananda´s Cave - Kanhangad Kerala
Guruvan´s importance
Guruvan is situated 5 kms to the north east if Kanhangad Ashram. Bhagawan used to stay in a cave there during the night. The place was called Koreyanam. It is protected by tall mountains from all sides just like the walls of a fort. The place was full of snakes and wild tigers, leopards, bears etc. Tribals known as Korags used to stay there and the place therefore was called as Koratavan. At the time Bhagawans first visit to the place, there was a cave, a few iron swords and several stones, which were used for worhipping demons. Now the same place is called as Guruvan.

Janananda Swami´s Room - Bhagawan Nityananda Ashram Kanhangad
This video was recorded during my visit of Bhagawan Nityananda Ashram in Kanhangad where Bhagawan has built meditation caves in old Hosadurga Fort. The place is very holy. Nearby is another place called Guruvan where Nityananda used to stay. Manager and stuff of the Ashram were very kind to me. And I want thank to them.

BEKAL FORT - KASARAGOD - KL14 - KERALA
Built almost 300 years ago, Bekal Fort is considered as one of the largest and most preserved forts in Kerala. Nestled in the lap of nature, Bekal Fort is a historic fort surrounded by a beautiful beach offering an enchanting view of Arabian Sea from its high observation tower where once the cannons were placed. The beautiful walkway, illuminated beach and the grand architecture of the Bekal Fort make this place a favourite among the masses. The fort was featured in the popular A R Rahman song ' Tu hi re'.
The Bekal fort is a keyhole-shaped lofty structure that stands still against the rocky shores of sea amusing its visitors with its finesse. The whole purpose of erecting this structure by Shivappa Nayaka of Bednore in the year 1650 was pure of defence. The location has been a witness to an uninterrupted history with changing several seats of power from Indian royal dynasties to the rule of refined Sultans and surviving the colonial era of British Raj. It is the largest fort in Kerala, spread over an area of 40 acres. Located in the Bekal Village of Kasaragod District of Kerala, Bekal Fort was declared as the special tourism area by the Government of India in the year 1992.
Located at a distance of 65 kilometres from Mangalore City, Bekal Fort has various unusual features. One of the most important among these is the water tank with its flight of steps. The fort also has a tunnel, opening towards the south and a magazine for keeping ammunition with broad steps that lead towards the Observation tower. This Observation Tower is an extremely famous spot here due to the stunning view it offers of the nearby towns of Kanhangad, Pallikkara, Bekal, Kottikkulam and Uduma. The ease of accessibility, golden shore and the stunning view or the Arabian Sea makes this place a huge hit among the travellers.
