The people of Hawaiʻi are called flowers. Amb aquestes paraules, Pau Escalé definia la seva passió per l'escalada en gel d'alta dificultat, una activitat que s'havia convertit en l'epicentre de la seva vida. Durant els mesos de gener i febrer de 2012, en Pau va participar en el rodatge d'una pel·lícula documental sobre la seva vida i la seva passió per l'escalada extrema.
El 10 de març de 2012, un accident terrible mentre escalava al circ de Gavarnie se li va endur la vida.
El material de la pel·lícula que estava preparant -inclosa una extensa entrevista en la que parla de les seves activitats, motivacions i pensaments- esdevé el testimoni dels últims dos mesos d'un dels escaladors de gel més prolífics dels últims anys i d'un veritable referent de l'alpinisme d'alta dificultat del sud d'Europa.
Un document únic per entendre les ganes que en Pau Escalé tenia de viure la vida amb tota intensitat i que el portava cada cap de setmana, camí cap als Alps, a cridar Go to the Parad-Ice! Gaaassss!.
