HELLO FROM BERGEN! This is the first day we haven't been traveling or settling into an apartment, so we are ready to explore! We visited the LUSH store in Bergen, where we met the most wonderful LUSH staff EVER! Our LUSH haul in linked below! After a bit of shopping, including the first Harry Potter in NORWEGIAN, we headed back to our Airbnb for a bit of dinner! We didn't do a house tour so our BEAUTIFUL apartment is linked below, 100% stay there when you visit Bergen! (P.S. There's a cheeky discount link FOR YOU TOO!) After dinner we headed our to the bar No Stress, which was exactly what we needed on our stress free vacation! It's a bar specializing in cocktails and the bartenders are AMAZING at what they do! Oslo to Bergen, Norway by Train through the mountains and Boat through the fjords
We’re going to take you on one of the most spectacular train rides in all of Europe: starting in Oslo, we’re heading cross-country through fascinating mountain terrain, passing lakes and rivers and waterfalls, and then by boat through a vast fjord, finally we will be arriving later in the day at the ancient capital of Norway the town of Bergen. This special trip is called Norway in a Nutshell. Showing you a big cross-section of the country in just one day.

The scenery keeps getting more spectacular as we climb through the central regions of Norway, getting a little bit like Switzerland with tall mountains in the distance and glaciers, with lakes where the water is clear blue color.
We change trains mid-way at Myrdal and board the Flam railway which is one of the most scenic rides in Europe. It travels about four miles from the mountain tops down through seven lush valleys to the waters below in the Sognefjord, Norway’s largest fjord. There we catch a boat to Bergen through the Sognefjord. There's lots of great scenery during the boat ride, with the mountains towering high above on both sides of this chasm.

????????Chasing Lights in Tromsø, Norway
Thomas Hunger is an average German fellow but with a touch of quirkiness—his obsession with the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). He beams with childish enthusiasm and his eyes light up with wonder every time he talks about this natural phenomenon.
But Thomas is not a visitor seeing it for the first time nor is he just a regular tour guide—Thomas “chases” Aurora like a stormchaser would chase tornados. He is in the business of selling the experience of seeing the Northern Lights even though he can never guarantee his guests that he and his team will succeed catching one. Still, his trips are filled with excitement and frenzy as he constantly consults weather apps to find it, communicates with his team on possible sightings, and crosses open borders into Sweden and Finland with his head fixed skywards, waiting for Aurora to poke out from behind the clouds at night.
When the van they travel in stops his enthusiastic guests get off and plant a thicket of tripods in the snow—cameras pointed up and ISOs boosted high to vividly capture the magical and undulating green waves in the sky.
Thomas runs one of the most successful companies in Tromsø, Norway incidentally called, Chasing Lights. Guests from as far as Malaysia, China and India make the journey just to be mesmerized by this wash of green that fills the skies of Arctic nights. It’s an experience to cross off the bucket list, his guests often say.

There is no centre of the universe! According to the standard theories of cosmology, the universe started with a Big Bang about 14 thousand million years ago and has been expanding ever since. Yet there is no centre to the expansion; it is the same everywhere.
On a clear, moonless night, one can often see a hazy, luminous band stretching across the sky. The ancients devised many fanciful myths to account for this milky way. Galileo was the first to look at this haze with a telescope and discover that it was composed of countless dim stars. Today, we realize that this hazy band is our view from the inside of a vast disk that is home to billions of stars, including our own Sun, and vast amounts of interstellar dust. This is our galaxy — the Milky Way.
Earlier in this century, Edwin Hubble's observations led to the discovery that ours is only one of many billions of galaxies that dot the universe with each galaxy home to billions of stars. Some, like the Milky Way, are flat disks with arcing spiral arms and regions of dense interstellar gas, called nebulae, which are active sites of star formation. Yet others are ellipse-shaped agglomerations of mature stars, virtually devoid of interstellar gas or dust.

Flying into Bergen - Gateway to the Norwegian Fjords
I'm in Norway and this time it's the town of Bergen, known as the entrance to the Norwegian Fjords. We visited the fish market, went on a mini-Fjord cruise, visited an Ice Bar and even got to check out the famous Cornelius Sjømatrestaurant.
