The island is the site of an ongoing coral reef preservation and restoration through the collaboration of the city's LGU, the Philippine Army's 3ID (under the command of Maj. Gen. Jose Mabanta, Jr.), and the PNP, with the assistance of the DOST and the University of San Carlos.
Scuba Diving in Nogas Island, Anini-y, Antique, Philippines with The Dive House
Ever since I decided to target 20 dive locations by December 2020, I've been plotting out my list of places to visit. Antique was never on that list and was not even on my radar.
When my friend Seleena asked me if I wanted to go diving in Nogas Island in March, my first reaction was where?! I didn't even know where it was and had to do a bit of Googling. I've always liked going to places where there isn't much tourists so I was like, Game! let's do this!
Nogas Island is located in Anini-y in Antique. From Manila, we took a plane to Iloilo and from Iloilo took a van to The Dive House in Anini-y. There are no other dive shops in that side of town so we pretty much had the entire underwater world to ourselves! Yay!
The Dive House is a family-owned resort so you can expect to be treated like family. I was only suppose to do 3 dives but because I enjoyed so much, I ended up changing my plans. I decided to stay another night and doing more dives! :) I won't be surprised if I find myself back to this island soon!

From Iloilo City: ????????
???? Go to Molo Terminal ride a bus or a van fare is p100-p150 and tell the driver to drop you off at Anini-y Hot Spring the jump off point to Nogas Island, there the staff will lead you to the bangkas that go to Nogas Island of p250 to p400 per pax, its only 15-20mins and voila! You are already in a paradise! Pay the entrance fee of p50 and cottage from p250 smallest to p500.
From Manila: ✈????
???? Take a flight going to Iloilo. Then from Iloilo, take a cab that will bring you to Oton Terminal where Ceres buses, going to San Jose (Antique) via Anini-y, are. One may also ride a van from the Molo terminal wherein the drop-off point is at Dao aka Tobias Fornier. At the crossroad to San Jose and Dao, wait for a jeepney with San Jose – Anini-y – Casay route. The fare should be around 35Php/person. Ask to be dropped by Sira-an Hot Spring Resort. Travel time is around 2 hours.
???? Bring your food but there are chichiryas available and softdrinks in the island. It one of the best Islands Ive been in Western Visayas. There is an walkway where there are calachuchi trees and a lighthouse. Also dont forget to swim in Anini-y Hotspring.
