Nogo Station
Nogo Station is a historic homestead built in the 1880s, approximately 15 kilometres from the centre of Longreach.
At Nogo Station, visitors go to the shearing shed to see a Outback Pioneers' shearer at work and learn about the importance of sheep and wool in Australia’s development.
Visitors to Nogo Station appreciate the outback landscape and gain fascinating insights into pioneer methods and present day outback life. The property has a billabong reported to be used by legendary local cattle thief Captain Starlight (Harry Redford) to water his stolen cattle. Also stockyard ruins believed to have been where he kept stolen cattle before his notorious journey south.
The homestead opens during tour season (April - to October) providing an insight into pioneer times.

The whole process of being picked up by the bus at your accommodation, the cruise, the meal, the movie, and the trip home was awesome with too many highlights to name.

Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience, Longreach (Cobb and Co)
During a visit to Longreach, Western Queensland, earlier this year, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to ride on a replica of a Cobb & Co Stagecoach as part of Outback Pioneers' Stagecoach Experience. Cobb & Co Stagecoaches ran in Queensland between 1865 and 1924, not only providing transport for passengers and mail, but also bringing mail order goods to remote communities. At the peak of their operations, they had 40,000 horses available, with 6,000 horses per day actually hauling the coaches, working in teams of five. A coach would travel about 50 miles (80 km) per day, passengers paying a fare of about $2, which is equivalent to $400 at today’s rates! The Kinnon family have established an incredible setup in Longreach. Their operations, known as Outback Pioneers, are centred around the beautifully restored Welcome Home Café and Tearoom. Their Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience offers the opportunity to experience what it was like to ride in one of these wonderful old coaches, heading out of town and off onto unsealed, dusty tracks. What’s more, this is one of the very few places in the world where you can still experience what it was like to gallop along in such a vehicle along outback tracks, something the actual coaches would have to do when trying to outrun a storm! Outback Pioneers also offer a variety of other experiences, including a cruise on the Thomson River aboard a beautiful old wooden paddle steamer followed by a stockman’s campfire dinner. They also run a tour of the restored homestead at Nogo Station, complete with a station tour aboard an open top bus and a shearing demo in a working wooden shearing shed. They can even provide accommodation in Longreach, excellent evening meals at the atmospheric, period furnished Stonegrill Restaurant and souvenirs from the Station Store.
