Great African Safari, Masai Mara Kenya Wildlife, Maasai Village Tour (2019)
Please Subscribe it means the WORLD to me, What is your answer to the question at the end? Would love to hear from you in the comments.
Wow-what can I say about the Masai Mara, After many years of dreaming it was time for my Great Africa Safari to begin, The wildlife in Kenya & the Maasai Village Tour was just AMAZING, Filled with a pride of lions with a Lion cub, a group of cheetahs, a large heard of 20 elephants a white rhino and much much more, enjoy this cinematic version of the events and the selection of images on my blog
I watched a show called Big Cat Diaries for years and it fascinated me it was all about the Masai Mara Kenya Wildlife, years later that was followed by a Netflix Series called Tales by Light which was actually filmed by an Australian named Abraham Joffe who I had met years previous at an awards dinner. In this series, they also visit a Masai Village so when I decided to head to Kenya to work for the Little Angels Foundation Charity It meant I was only hours away from the Masai Mara so I knew that it was destiny calling me in, Also if you want to see the resulting video for Little angels
So what does this video cover it wasn't just my tour to Masai Mara National Reserve but also some of the footage is from Lake Nakuru National Park as-well pretty much any of the footage that has greenery is from Lake Nakuru and that's not to say the Masai isn't still beautiful just different. My brief was prepared to be amazed as we journey into the extraordinary wilderness savannah in search of incredible wildlife and it lived up-to that for sure.
My initial thought was to do an African safari documentary which included a Maasai village tour and performance, it was my first ever African safari and I will remember it forever, the fact I get to travel and document my adventures is such a blessing Since this trip I have decided to start a Travel VLOG for my trip to Nepal and then Mexico so its a more intimate style so make you check it out
Masai Mara National Reserve is situated within the Great Rift Valley in the southern part of Kenya. It measures approximately 1510 sq. kilometres (approx. 938 sq. miles) in size and forms a continuation of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
Its name derives from the indigenous people of Kenya - the Maasai Tribe - and the Mara River that runs through the park.
The Masai Mara is famous for the annual Great Migration that occurs from June to October. During these months more than 1.5 million wildebeest, zebras and antelopes migrate from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara and cross plains, valleys and rivers in search of fresh pasture.
The Reserve is also home to the largest concentration of wildlife, including the big five (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo). Furthermore, there are numerous black-maned lions.
Birdlife is as plentiful as wildlife in the Masai Mara that boasts over 400 different species of birds.
The Reserve is shared with the Maasai Tribe, whose culture and lifestyle has remained relatively intact for hundreds of years.
The Maasai are an indigenous ethnic group settled in Kenya and in northern Tanzania.
This tribe leads a semi-nomadic life, therefore their houses are loosely constructed and semi-permanent. They are usually small circular houses built by the women using mud, grass, wood and cow dung.
The fence around the kraal is made of acacia thorns which prevent lions from attacking the cattle.
The Maasai warriors are in charge of village security while boys are responsible for guarding livestock.
This Video now enters into the Action-Adventure Playlist with all of my best videos watch binge and ENJOY
The Masai Mara is one of the best known nature reserves in Africa. The area is famous particularly for the concentration of predators. The film shows the life of a mother cheetah with her cubs and a pride of lions. But also the migration of large herds of wildebeests and zebras with the crossing of the Mara River attracts visitors in its spell.

Kenya's oldest bar still popular with loyal patrons and tourists
Kilindini Bar, in Kenya's Mombasa County, is probably East Africa's oldest drinking spot. It's been in service for 110 years. Ownership has been passed down, now to the fourth generation of a Kenyan family of Goan descent. But as CGTN's Leslie Mirungu discovered, patrons, too, are inherited, so to speak.

Lake Elementaita Serena Camp
Lake Elementaita Serena Camp
Uniquely situated on the shoreline of sapphire-blue Lake Elmenteita where hundreds of thousands of birds congregate, the small and exclusive Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp in Kenya opened in July 2011. This area of breathtaking beauty, also home to many rare species of animals, is less than two hours’ drive from Nairobi and just a short distance to the famous Flamingo filled Lake Nakuru. Evocatively styled to echo the area’s rich history, our safari camp blends aristocratic elegance with modern luxury and will offer cuisine and service of fittingly high standards.
The nomadic Maasai had passed through the area for centuries and the name Elmenteita derives from the Maasai Ol muteita for “place of dust”. Then in 1897 one of the first pioneers arrived, after walking over 1,000 km south from Berbera on the coast of Somalia. This was the third Baron Delamere, who dedicated his foresight and fortune to pioneering farming methods in the Rift Valley. He moved to Elmenteita in 1906, where he further experimented with sheep and cattle ranching, advised and assisted by the Maasai - with whom he had a great rapport. He named his farm Soysambu, Maasai for “striated rock” - Sambu is also a cow colour.
Today’s Soysambu is a 48,000 acre Wildlife Conservancy, also a RAMSAR site - a wetland of international importance. The alkaline lake’s rocky islands are the only East African nesting site for great white pelicans, while its algae and plankton provides food for vast flocks of flamingos and a multitude of other waterfowl, many of them rare. The Conservancy protects over 450 bird species and 15,000 wild animals. Rothschild giraffes have found a safe haven for breeding here, while a diverse variety of terrain shelters many species - from herds of giant elands to tiny dik-diks and cliff-dwelling klipspringers. Night game-drives offer a unique opportunity to spot nocturnal creatures including the curious-looking aardvark and elusive leopard. Walking is also allowed, with chances to experience the miracles of the bush close-up. Atmospheric bush dinners beneath the stars and spectacular sundowners over this geologically fascinating part of the Great Rift Valley are a few more of the camp’s exciting activities. Lake Nakuru National Park and Kariandusi prehistoric site are also nearby.
* Please note that access to the camp is only through Reservation or prior arrangement with management.

Samburu Safari Video - Kenya Part 4 - Samburu and It's People - www.AfricanSafaris.travel
Saburu Safari Video - Kenya Safaris - Samburu and it's People, it's Elephants, it's wonderful wildlife! Meet the proud Samburu Tribe and see Part 4 of the African Adventure!
The Samburu are a Nilotic people of north-central Kenya. They are a sub tribe of the Maasai. The Samburu are semi-nomadic pastoralists who herd mainly cattle but also keep sheep, goats and camels. The name they use for themselves is Lokop or Loikop, a term which may have a variety of meanings which Samburu themselves do not agree on. Many assert that it refers to them as owners of the land (lo refers to ownership, nkop is land) though others present a very different interpretation of the term. The Samburu speak the Samburu dialect of the Maa language, which is a Nilo-Saharan language. There are many game parks in the area, one of the most well known is Samburu National Reserve. The Samburu is the third largest in the Maa community of Kenya and Tanzania, after the Kisonko (Isikirari)of Tanzania and Purko of Kenya and Tanzania.

Inside Africa's Biggest Slum (Kibera) - Nairobi, Kenya
Nairobi (Kenya) is a very complex, diverse city. The rich are REALLY rich, and the poor are REALLY poor.
Today I took a trip to a district in Nairobi called Kibera, which is considered to be the biggest urban slum in Africa. More than 1 million people live within 2 square kilometers.
I don't know how many videos it will take me to spread this message, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that people in impoverished areas are significantly happier than the wealthy.
And overall, I've found Kenyan people to be the most heart warming, welcoming and friendly people in Africa (along with Malawians!) Have I mentioned that I love Nairobi?!

Nairobi offers tourists a glimpse of what the country has to offer
In Kenya, over 200,000 tourists visit every year to view the wildlife, the beaches and the epic sceneries. Tourism is Kenya's second largest source of foreign exchange revenue. But if one does not have the time to take a safari or fly to the coast, there are still some good spots to visit in the capital as CCTV's Maria Galang explains.
Wildlife Park inside Nairobi, Kenya is Home to The Big 5
“When you come to Kenya, you are coming to your original home,” so the Kenyan saying goes. Our Global Nomad CultursTV crew experienced the feeling of home first hand in travels through Kenya, Africa (especially on Safari).
Safari is a traditional word in the Kiswahili African language meaning “a journey.” These days “Safari” is oft used to indicate a journey through wildlife or tour of wildlife. This CultursTV travel segment takes our Adult Third Culture Kid (TCK) and Cross Culture Kid (CCK) crew on Safari travel through a number of national wildlife parks in Kenya, Africa.
This Safari video features Amboseli National Park, located in Loitoktok District, Rift Valley Province of Kenya. Amboseli is a Kenyan National Park that offers the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain. It is said Amboseli is the space that allows closest proximity to elephants (something CultursTV experienced first hand in our travels!) They call Amboseli a “community” park because according to Amboseli National Park Deputy Senior Park Warden, Joseph Dadacha, you cannot separate the local Masai people from Amboseli National Park; one cannot separate this Kenyan National Park from its culture.
Check it out and see for yourself the splendor of Safari.

Drought provokes conflict between farmers and pastoralists
(6 Aug 2017) LEADIN:
Farmers and rangers in Kenya are being subjected to attacks by pastoralist tribes that are ransacking property in order to feed their cattle.
The attacks have heightened as the country continues to be gripped by severe drought and Kenyans prepare to go to the polls.
STORYLINE:
For more than a year now, farms and homes in the equatorial county of Laikipia in Kenya have been under siege.
Farmer Martin Evans inspects one blackened home, the result of an invasion by semi-nomadic herders who say a widespread drought is making them desperate to find grazing land for their animals.
The severe drought affects half of Kenya's 47 counties and has been declared a national disaster. Watering holes and rivers are running dry. Crops are failing and livestock are dying, causing prices of some staple foods to jump by more than 30 percent.
It has become a burning issue in the forthcoming general election, causing many farmers to believe that the attacks are politically motivated.
But many farmers say they believe the land invasions are politically motivated. They say some politicians are inciting the herders to invade and displace thousands of farmers, both black and white, changing voter demographics to help win local elections.
Martin Evans is the owner of Ol Maisor farm. The property was first invaded in May last year (2016) when 6 kms of fencing was cut on the northern boundary of the farm. Since then Evans says they have been subject to constant fire fights, looting, arson attacks and illegal grazing.
These invasions are coming from the north and as far as we can tell it seems be tribal expansionism by the Samburu and Pokot tribes. They formed an alliance. So I think we can put the blame on the Samburu leaders mostly that have caused this problem. Also because it's coming into an election year, I think what they would like to do is to drive out members of the other tribes; mostly Turkana and Kikuyu, he says.
Evans says the rate of illegal grazing increases after rainfall and decreases when the Kenyan military are patrolling - although the latter, he says, just moves the pastoralists on to other areas.
In late July, Mathew Lempurkel, a member of parliament from Laikipia, was charged in a Nairobi court with inciting his constituents to violence and racial contempt.
He is accused of making comments supporting the forceful eviction of white landowners if Kenya's top opposition leader Raila Odinga wins the presidential election.
Appearing in court the Orange Democratic Movement member of parliament for Laikipia North constituency denied the charges and said he could not comment further when quizzed by journalists outside the court.
I have said the lawyer is aware, the court is aware, the matter is before the court and there is nothing I can add.
But for many like Gimaru, who has been a pastoralist all his life, stealing and trespassing is a must due to constant drought and lack of pasture.
A place like here we only come to steal grass because of drought. We don't stay long, we steal and run home, he says.
In Laikipia, Kenya's military and police have been working to disarm and drive hundreds of herders and their animals out of ranches they've invaded, but their actions appear to have escalated the violence.
Samburu and Pokot warriors have retaliated by killing the white British safari guide and conservationist, Tristan Voorspuy and shooting the well known Italian author Kuki Gallman wounding her in the stomach.
Maria Dodds, a livestock breeder at Kifuku ranch says her property has been attacked every few days for almost a year now. The ranch that has been in the family for 50 years has been looted, vandalised and shot at.
The attacks are not limited to white ranchers.
