Pattaya Bangkok Pit Stop: Nong Mon Market, Chon Buri, Thailand
Nong Mon Market is a renowned stopover point for tourists travelling between Bangkok and Pattaya. Located on Sukhumvit Road, mostly all local delights can be found here including local seafood products, local snacks and desserts.
The most popular food among the customers is the 'Khao Larm' which consists of sweet sticky rice cooked and served in a bamboo tube.

A short distance away from the Angsila Market is the snack filled Nong Mon market (ตลาดหนองมน).
Map:
Settled years ago by a large Chinese community, their presence is evident in the temples nearby, as with the restaurants. This video features:
1) Kanom jak ขนมจาก (sometimes spelled kanom jark) a taffy like substance made from sticky rice flour, coconut, and palm sugar. The sticky paste is bound in palm leaf and grilled until the edges are charred.
2) Hoy Jor หอยจ๊อ a Thai Chinese crab sausage made from wrapping crab meat in a tofu wrapper.
Note: These are sometimes made with pork in them, so try to ask first if you want to avoid it.
3) Yentafo Noodles เย็นตาโฟ at Yentafo Jay Bouy (ร้านเย็นตาโฟเจ้บ๊วย ต้นโพธิ์) Map:
Note: For an explanation on yentafo see this video:
4) Uzu Americano at We Coffee

Chonburi Thailand Vlog 2: Angsila Seafood Market and Handmade Thai Mortar & Pestle

Stop 1: Old Ang Sila Market ตลาดเก่าอ่างศิลา
Map:
The seafood here is often what supplies much of the restaurants in the area. While this isn’t much as a tourist attraction, the Old Ang Sila Market can get really busy as it has become a popular stopping point for Thai motorists. They are most often pulling up to the first part of the market to buy prepackaged and a few freshly prepared products to eat in the care or take home.
The snack tried in the market is called 'jaeng lon' or แจงลอน, but is basically tod mun (Thai fish cakes) in meatball skewer form. They appeared a bit dry, but were tastier than they looked. This is not a common snack and it was my first time to try, so be on the lookout for them to get more popular, as people are already familiar with the flavor.
Stop 2: Ang Sila Mortar and Pestle Vendors (on the main road beyond the market towards the town)
Stop 3: Nong Mon Market (15 mins from Ang Sila Market)
Map:
This is Day 2 in Chonburi and the second half will be uploaded soon, stay tuned.

Nong Mon Market
a market famous for Chonburi's local handicraft and souvenirs about 1 kilometer from the junction leading to Bang Saen. Among its well-known buys are different types of dried seafood, Khao Lam or gluttonous rice baked in bamboo, hor-mok (spicy steamed fish cakes), hoi-jor (deep fried shrimp cakes), sweetened-banana and taro chips, and sweetened-fruit preserves.
A day in Chonburi
I'm walking from the Bangsaen Beach down the Thanon Bangsaenlang road. Having just had a gorgeous seafood lunch on the beach, I decided to walk around the city a little bit with my cam on.
This is a very nice resort city. Even on this street with lots of cars and bikes going by, I felt myself at home. Thailand is, and will always be the country I have a very special place in my heart for.

Chonburi Thailand
This is my part 2 Chonburi video. I'm going along a street in the town. Filming the street life with a little bit of rain coming down. The Burapha University area, that is.
Even though I'm not showing you all the best spots in the town, Chonburi, without a doubt, should be put on your travel list next time you're traveling in the province. The Bangsaen beach, which is the place I'm going from, should be mentioned here as being one of the top places to see around here. The beach market alone, that stretches all along the coastline, deserves a couple hours of your time, trust me on this one :)

The Thai Floating Market, Chonburi
While some of the original floating markets in Thailand exist today, in previous generations there were many more. In this video we take you to a tourism-related floating market in Chonburi Thailand. This market is new, a re-creation of the typical old-fashioned floating market. The food offered by chefs operating from small floating kitchens is remarkably good. As you can see from the video, it's very popular with locals.
